i know i should know this but what which one are you putting into DWC? if its a clone id start at 150-200 and work up 10-30 PPM's a day for the first week

i'm putting the seed that just popped in rockwool in the bucket...do i have to wait until i see roots outside the wool..
 
miwa your plants look excellent, is that all CFL? bravo.

Here is a link to the post that has a picture of what you need to start your baby sprout with rather than submersing the whole thing in water it will probably drown it .

HERES THE POST

his is set up so he can feed multiple sprouts at a time but you can shut off valves you don't use or simply leave them under the lid they will just recirculate and add more oxygen if anything. Good luck!

i took some close-ups of those cones on top of my buds..not sure but i think they are growing on the other plant...should know by friday...

i found a mag glass..i'm holding it in front of my camera lens..going to get some good shots if i can tweek it in...might not need to buy a scope...
 
I for one have enjoyed this journal immensly. Miwa tries things outside the usual and things are going generally well. Those are some cool pics and that looks like some fine smoke your looking forward to. DWC is a real bumpy ride and I can't wait to see you pull it off Miwa. As for the somewhat different bud designs Jock Horror is a combination of 4 different plants there is going to be some variation. It does look like you are heading in a different direction but I would like to see Jock grown in a DWC, might be spectacular!

you can wait untill the seed has about 3-4 inches coming out and if the roots arent out yet you still deffinately could but if you rush it im not sure if anything bad would happen. i know for clones that havent rooted its perfectly fine to put them into DWC my roots EXPLODED once i put them into the DWC. im sure you'll be fine thou bud try her out and keep the nutes LOOOWWWW
 
lol just re read that post. its a little confusing and i recomended 2 different choices. ill say go ahead and put her in there you shouldnt have to wait. im confident that her roots will love the environment and start popping out. id give them 3-4 days after you put her in the bucket youll see roots...maybe 5 since shes a seedling. but you'll see just a thin white root poking out of the pot out of no where and they grow FAST!!!! the day i saw mine poke through was at 3pm and i had checked earlier at 6am and nothing was there.. by the time lights out at 10:45 it was about 3 inches long already.
 
DWC is similar to a bubble cloner with the exception you have nutrients added to the solution. And once you get your plants growing you need to keep the reservoir at a certain temperature. Your lucky here as you have people that can give you an idea on the nutrient levels and how to keep your reservoir temps in the right range. My trip thru DWC was in the old days and it was like riding bulls, easy to get thrown off!
 
yea i hear you on that one doc, it is easy to get bucked off. DWC is touchy BUT worth the hassle in the end. plus learning all aspects of growing like miwa is this is a good hands on experience for him. hes going to be the "go to guy" soon with all this experimenting hes doing. soon he'll know how to do EVERYTHING there is to know about growing weed.

Ok...getting nutes friday..got plant in bucket..PH=5.5...PPM=55 at .7...Temp=78...going to put PPM at 250 friday...the plant is a Auto AK...also going to transplant one of my Jock clones to DWC...
 
Drive bye. You can clone rite in your DWC system. Just adjust the Nert's way down and give it hell. You can cut a two liter soda bottle if ya have need of a dome. DWC grows some monster plants. I noticed in hydro that plants seen to exploded in the vegetative stage. I haven't seen much faster flowering tho. I agree Miwa does alot of things as said outside the box. But thats what its for enjoyment. The weed helps alot too. Keepem Green
 
yea i think i might be a kin to that guy they call Frankenstien or something...my buds are packing it on...i got trics everywhere..the pop-corn buds are covered...one of my plants has cones growing from the top of the buds...here is some close-ups see if you can spot a amber...54 days in flowers...

with the right lights and growing medium...this is the strain to grow...
 
Thanks chief...i took one of my Jock clones ..cleaned the roots and put it in a bucket..it was real wiltered because i had to take my time plus it was fixing to be root-bound...but now shes lifting her leaves...the seed turned a little green...i got the water about a inch or 1/2 from the bottom of the net pot...i got so many stones in the water when the bubbles burst i can feel spray on my hand...alot of oxygen...

Try to keep water temp in low 70's at the highest, 68 to 72 optimum to cut down on slime/rot.
 
All good pics but #3 is the one to bring forth instantly the location of my pipe to mind. Putting Jock in DWC might just really test your bondage skills!
 
Update on the DWC...this sprout has not progress..she's just laying there..2 days old so 24 more hrs and i will put seed in jiffy pellet..i got 2 seeds in RW..both Auto AKs..i have been having problems with this Auto even in soil...i got one growing but its past due on flowering...

On the other hand..the Jock i put in the bucket..it was so wilted i would have bet she wouldn't make it..but within 30 min..a lot of leaves had begun to straighten...this morning she looks like she did in soil...

so it looks like this RW may be on its way to the compost pile...
