I think, as threw packets away

Hi All.
This is my second time growing.
The 1st was a learning curve and thanks to the knowledge and advice in the forums, thank you, I decided to do a journal, as best I can
I purchased 7 seeds, from Grizzly seeds, a mix of 4 varieties.
I chose the highest % Stativa to Indica ratio I could afford. Most are a ‘lemon’ or ‘citrus’ aroma.
Having no recollection of the names, maybe an Amnesia, Haze etc and I’ve thrown packet out.

Having learned the hard way, see my other post ‘What can be done?’,
I decided to onlt grow 3 plants at a time.
Germinated seeds by soaking for 24hrs and then wrapping in damp tissue until the white shoot was about 3 to 4mm long.
Planted in a 1/2L pot which had been pre moistened with A&B grow nutrients.
I am following the recommended Canna guideline of 7ml to 2000ml of water.
By the way. The tap water in my area is full of Chlorine and very hard. Last time I used bottled spring water, but this became expensive (£2/Day), so I now use Rain water, and ya never short of that in the UK

One seed did not Germinate so I gave up after 8 days on it. Hence only growing 2 this time.
I have no pics of seedlings but grew them on my window sill in full light, and when they had 5 nodes, I moved them to the grow tent.
The pics inserted were taken this morning.
They have been in there for 3 Days on an 18/6 light Cycle.
I have a couple of fans blowing 24/7 and the extractor to circulate the Air.
Before I only though the extractor was for smell.
Then I discovered how much condensation builds up!
Another Lesson learned

A week has past. Here’s an update
Weather has been hot over last few days so I have 3 fans blowing and while its daylight hours for the ladies and I’m about, I’m leaving tent un-zipped to let some cooler air circulate better. Outside temp today is gonna hit about 30°C but there is a cooling breeze.
Watered them twice this week, 2L a time, each.
here’s pics.
Have a good wkend folks

Week 3 ( in tent)

Another week has gone by and apart from watering and trying to keep temp down, as weather still been in high 20’s°C again this week,
I have been manipulating some of the stems to train them across the netting and nipping off the odd big fan leaf that is blocking too much light from the stems etc below it.
Prob took 2 off each plant over the week one at a time leaving couple of days in between so not to stress.
Its apparent now that the varieties I planted are quite different in the way they grow.
One is shorter and bushier than the other and the other produces huge fan leaves and appears to be growing faster with longer stems.
Easier when training them to spread.
Couple of pics below to show progress.
May change to 12/12 cycle next week, depending how they look.
Have a great wkend.

After some advice on feeding and why have a 20% run-off when watering. I have invested in a ppm (ec ) tester.
Today I changed the light cycle to 12/12.
Having learned how much more they grow during bloom from my first grow.
Some more pics.
I think they look pretty healthy and quite Beautiful

After taking advice about Auto light schedule. I put the cycle back to 18/6 after 4 days.
I’ll see if they are Autos like should be. If no sign of change then I’ll flip them come wk7.
Now feeding Dutch Pro Canna A&B coco Bloom and adding Canna CANNAZYM. (6ml to 2L water).
Plants looking healthy.
What do you think?

Stress full week.
Working long hours. Had to leave them for a couple of days without checking and watering.
When I did yesterday found Ballast box flashing and lamp was Off when shouldn't be.
Assumed at sometime had a power failure and timer had reset.
I put it to come back on but tripped out again.
Found the connection between Ballast and Lamp cables had melted
Cut out connector and re wired inside a junction box, back working.
Got my timing schedule out of sync but back in a 18/6.
Guessing it was down for maybe a Day, dunno.
Plants dont seem too affected.

Not good.
Have a Spider Mite problem.
Thanks to members advice I have some Neem Oil coming today, hopefully and tomorrow some SMC concentrate.
Gonna blitz the little Bastards for hurting my Babies
Stressed out waiting, had to buy online as nothing in local stores.
But paid for next day delivery.
Atm it looks early stages of infestation and hopefully will be able to control if not erradicate.
Although a pal told me you will never totally stop it from happening unless you have a clinical and sealed grow room.
In fact he said that if it gets bad, you’d be better off having someone steal ya plants as at least they’d take most of them with them and you can start again taking more precautions
I’m still learning and it hasn’t put me off. I’m better prepared for next time.
Pics are of fan leaf with the fuckers eggs.
Seen the ‘mothers’ under a Macro lens on some leaves underneath but didnt take a pic. Just burnt it with my lighter
Angry moment of Rage
I have picked off a few leaves which looked worst for now until the treatment comes. Prob wint do much but those eggs wont hatch on my plants.
Update next week .

I’ve sprayed 3 times with a mite control this week.
Things dont seem to be getting worse but I have found a couple of the bastards deep in the plant foliage prob where spray didnt reach. I’ve give it a good spray moving stems and treating as much foliage as posible and the undersides.
All I can do is wait.

Some pics below.
Amazing that only 2 plants fill a 1.2x1.2M area with a SCROG.
Will never grow more than 2 from now. (Last time grew 6 and had no end of trouble!)

Little update for anyone following.
Decided that they are not Auto’s or something that should have happened hasn’t, so I’ve flipped the cycle to 12/12 after ( under advice, to ‘kick start the flowering stage) leaving lamp off for 24hrs.
Also made up a Neem oil pesticide and sprayed heavily as spider mites not being deLt with as quick as I’d like
100% pure Organic Neem oil, has to be warmed up in a bowl of hot water to liquify.
2.5ml/ 1L warm water
5ml or Pink Sun Horticultural soap.
This seems to be the best all round pesticide used by growers, in the UK at least.
I did see a ‘Triple Action’ Neem solution from the US but would have been 3 times the price of it just for posting.
Couldn’t source in UK.
Anyway hope it sorts it and hope the flip makes my babies bloom

Wk 9

Spider Mites appear to have been taken care of. No sign of any.
I will continue to spray Neem oil once a week to keep it in check.
The plants are looking good.
Leaves have a shine in them due to the Neem spray residue.
I get a sense of calm knowing they have protection.
Now I’ve flipped them I see more Pitsils than before , so at least they’re girls
Its gonna be a long wait, hoping no more than 6 weeks maybe to harvest.
Still feeding recommended nutrients from Dutch Pro Canna but watering with none every 3rd day. Also running off over 20% each time.
I water Daily roughly the same time every day. About 1 to 2 hrs before lights out.
Latest pics below.
Have a great weekend

Flowers now starting to develop.

I’m worried the mass of fan leaves are shading bud sites.
Of the understanding that you dont stress the plant by leaf picking or trimming, so i’ve tucked a few leaves but there’s alot going on in the canopy so not much room or improvement.
Any advice appreciated
I took a video but wont upload, something about file extensions, so here’s some pics.
They have grown fabulously, much more than I expected from 2 plants.
In a way I’m glad one of my seeds didn’t take as would be ridiculously cramped.
Caio for now. Have a good weekend

Looking fantastic @Wilky

don’t be afraid to take leaves off. Just don’t do too many at one time. Let the light hit those flowers.

I estimate I remove between 10 -30 leaves per plant depending on strain.

you’re doing great. It’s the fun part now!!

:woohoo:

Lots and lots of lovely flowers!
I’ve been taking the odd leaf off that are shading bud sites.

WK 12

Gave them last watering with Nutes today.
Starting to Flush now for the next week with just plain rain water.
They look like another week and be ready for Harvest
I’ve tried to take a few pics with a Macro lens attachment to my phone on an HDR setting.
Hoping someone will comment below, if this is a good idea, leave them longer etc or what.
I am Colour-Blind, so hard for me to recognise change on bud hairs etc.
Especially under the brightness of the HPS
