Yes, I always defo the big fan leaves to get better light. So far it's been working for me. I take it you don't and by the look of y9ur plants I'm pretty sure you don't. I had read back when I started it was good to do in veg mode and when you first flip. Always willing to listen to your thoughts on the subject.

She survived the defoliation and seems to be doing good. Pinched the top and will let her veg for at least another 5 days.

I concentrate on growing roots.
The more leaf matter there is the more roots it takes to supply them nutrients.
Roots are the pump at the heart of my operation.
Throughout veg I maximum my root growth by letting foliage grow and grow.
Then after stretch I clean out under the skirt reducing branches not getting light and extra leaves.
Now I have a rootball capable of supplying nutrients to a huge plant bigger than it is.
I can pump nutrients to my buds giving me a big harvest with excellent quality.
Fretting over light hitting bud sites in veg is pointless.
Besides now your issue will compound. :Namaste:
She is already supporting heavy water logged leaves , reducing her ability to transpire won't improve that.
Just 2 cents on my method, no right or wrong way here.
Different techniques is all.:thumb:

I'll have to try that on 1 of the clones and see how it works for me.

I wanted 11 nodes and I have them. So I cut top and it will be a clone. I'll let her veg a couple days after the cut and the flip will possibly be this weekend.
