2015 Multi-Strain Outdoor Soil Grow & Prep

Good afternoon everybody! I know your thinking, "what could you possibly have to update us on since the last 24 hours?!"...right?! Well, as I moved the plants I was keeping in veg from the closet to the greenhouse this morning I noticed the smell in my office was insane! Once I got them outside I noticed both my Purple Dream and "Babes' Sativa Dom UK decided to start putting out pistils!!! I'm wondering if this was due to them getting 10.5 hours of direct sunlight a day and the rest was provided by cfls. So...they are now also in the greenhouse 24 hours.

I did flush both of these plants last night with a mix of 1 drop of SuperThrive to 2.5 gallons of rain water. Hopefully that won't delay the flowering or anything.

When a female cannabis plant is sexually mature it will begin forming pre flowers in vegetative growth.

Here is the female cannabis pre flower

SuperThrive contains nitrogen that will delay flower, reduce budding and and should not be used in flower unless needed.

Great to have you DrZiggy!

KingJohnC, that's interesting. I never knew a female could put out flowers before the 12/12 switch unless it was an auto, and all of a sudden I have 3 plants doing it! Kinda unfortunate because I was planning on letting them veg about another month before I flowered them but hey...what can you do

Good evening everyone, hope all is well with you guys! IKnow its a little later than usual, but I'm trying to keep to my weekly updates. Luckily, I took these pics today around 2pm while the sun was at its peak but it's been overcast the last few days. If also like to add that I've gone ahead and soaked about 10 unknown beans. When they sprout, I'm going to pick the best, healthiest looking sprouts for the next round of plants. I'll also be looking for some FLUX candidates but we'll get more into that when the time comes. Also, OG Skywalker 1 revealed HIMSELF a few days ago so he has been killed. Now, let's get to the ladies.
UK Indica Dom.- It's been getting pretty cold at night...around the mid and low 30s so I've bern bringing her in the house at sundown

Purple Dream - This plant is really starting to bush out nicely. Did some slight defoliation last week. I think it's finally at the point where I can take some nice clones and veg them until the summer. Back under 18/6 since KingJohn put my mind at ease lol and from what I can tell it's not stretching or popping out any more flowers. Just good steady growth.

Babes' Sativa Dom.- Also back under 18/6 with the others. Bushing out a lot and it has also stopped stretching so much. Energy is back to vegetative growth. Hasn't been trained at all, letting her take her natural form.

OGS2- Interesting story. As I was doing some random research and reading on the forum( as I do from time to time) I stumbled across LightAddicts "Tut Style Training" tutorial. Funny thing is, that's EXACTLY how I've been training this plant, and without knowing, I even topped her at the 7th node! With this discovery, Ive decided I'm going to push this plant and she will be a "Tut Style OGS" and hopefully get something similar to LightAddicts' BV he showcased in the post. Wish me luck!

Good green morning everyone! FINALLY! We've had some wonderful weather in my part of the world over the last week so the girls have been doing great! Before we get into all of that, allow me to introduce the next plant in the grow. This is Skywalker OG #3. Since #1 turned out to be a male, I went ahead and popped another bean. Here are the specs.

- 4 gallon plastic pot
- soil mix: happy frog soil, perlite, dolomite lime, organic bone meal and Epsom salt
- in veg under a spectrum of CFLs
- No nutes used now, just being watered with collected rain water

With this plant, I will be attempting my first FLUX and will be following LightAddicts tutorial to the "T" lol. Anyway, pics or it didn't happen right!

Good green morning 420 family, I hope the weather has been better in your parts of the world than it has been in mine. Unfortunately I've had over a week and a half of temperatures between 12 and 38 degrees so my greenhouse girls have been suffering a bit and it's not scheduled to get above 40 until Saturday. Even then it will be overcast and rainy for a few days so I'll give you guys an update on those when conditions clear up a bit. However, it's been 7 days since I decided to try my first FLUX so I'm here with an update and a few questions so let's get into it!
-Leia (OG Skywalker ) has done a number of interesting things over the last week. There's been a great amour of new growth...possibly too much? Lol I'll get to what I mean by that. I just did a little defol. and took some before and after pics. First thing I noticed is I finally have a tripod...and on both sides of the FLUX! Always kind of wanted one, and now I have twin tripods! I've seen most plants do outgrow the trait but we shall see. Also, you'll see my next FLUX candidate in the 6in square pot.

image19628.jpg

Now the after pics. This is where things really start to get a little interesting...
image19652.jpg

- Lets call this side 1. I noticed Leia was shooting 3 leaves on this side before I took of some leaves. It can be seen clearly from the new growth. This is going to make thing interesting when it comes to building the flux as I will have extra limbs if I don't decide to remove them...but I really don't want to though it will likely get pretty crowded.
image19629.jpg
image19630.jpg

- Now to side 2. It's gets even crazier. This side is also shooting tripple leaves but not at the same exact rate.
image19631.jpg
image19633.jpg

- As if that wasn't crazy enough, Leia is also shooting 2 secondary stems from the second node! Yes, you read correctly lol I hope this doesn't continue or else I'll have to start removing arms simply for the room.
image19635.jpg

- As you can see, my first FLUX attempt is starting off..."interestingly" to say the least. I'm open to any input or suggestions you guys have and would love to hear from Mr. LightAddict himself. Also, before I go I'd like to add two more things. First, a few of the leaves I pulled from Leia are a 2-in-1 leave. Never seen that before. Deformation maybe? And second, just a shot of some new candidates for this years grow

Cheers!

Here and subbed :)
OK this is your baby so the final choice is with you :) Yet if fluxing, you want to keep all on the one level. I only used the side on nodes for better even flow and also to stop overcrowding. Also when you try to train any over or under node you aid in the chance of twisting the main flux arms!
So I'd either convert your plans and go another way than fluxing and keep that for your next girl, or strip them odd nodes away!

Anyway here and just holla if you need anything :)

Good afternoon everyone. As promised, I'm back with a small update on the greenhouse girls. Even though it only got up to 26 degrees, the sun was shining so it was a nice 77 in the greenhouse and they got some much needed sunshine and warmth. Unfortunately OG Skywalker #2 after all my beautiful "Tut" training ALSO turned out to be a male so I think I'm going to keep him around for some breeding trials later this summer. I removed the pollen sacks I saw and will wait for the next set to show to clip and freeze for the pollen. Anyway, picture time.

-Purple Dream - Has just been put into a 24 hour dark period before she enters flower. Just took 4 clones from her as well. Hopefully atleSt 2 take root.

Great to have you! Yes, this first attempt at a Flux has been interesting to say the least. I think I will train the side arms and cut and clone the odd ones when they get a little bigger to determine the sex. I'd hate to do all this training and it turn out to be a male!

Hope all is well in your world.

Is this grow still alive?

We would love to be updated with some pictures and info.

How about posting a 420 Strain Review?

If you need any help with posting photos, please read our Photo Gallery Tutorial.

I am moving this to Abandoned Journals until we get updates.

Sending you lots of love and positive energy.

:Namaste:

Good afternoon 420 family, hope all has been growing well with you! As I said earlier i have been on the road the last month and away from the house so there were some deaths, but there is still hope! All of the younger plants I had died but there are still a few left!
UK Indica Dom. - still flowering strong! Only a few more weeks to go I suspect but now she's putting out pink/purple pistils! This is something I've always dreamed of seeing in real life. Dreams do come true ☺️

Purple Dream - struggling a bit. We got a good rain last night so I set her outside the greenhouse to get a good flush. Hopefully she pulls through. Also putting out colored pistils.

image21926.jpg

Finally and unfortunately the OG Skywalker I was FLUXing is a male so I'll be pulling him as soon as this post is up. May he rest in peace.

Hey there 420 family, just here with a quick update/question. So...I know in my last post I mentioned I was going to pull the male OG FLUX...and I did. I just pulled him out of the greenhouse and moved him to a far part of the garden. My plan was to let the soil dry out and then pull him so I could easily shake off excess dirt to re-use. However...since then, it's been rained on a number of times and honestly has become quite magnificent! My NEW plan is to save the pollen sacks and use him to breed later this spring. My question, how should I save the pollen sacks? Never done this before, any help is appreciated. Now some pics of Mr. OG Skywalker

Look at the purple color. See why I didn't kill him yet? Lol

Howdy Gaboy,

I have no idea so I cant answer your question. But I was curious to see what I could find. There are a few things written in the How to Grow Marijuana section of the site. There are a couple suggestions on how to collect pollen and store/use it. Good luck and hope you get your answer

I have seen where you put a paper plate around the bottom of the plant to catch pollen and then shake it. Any you catch can be left out to dry then stored in an air tight container in the freezer with a grain of rice or two. Hope this helps!! Don't forget to shower right after and don't go near your ladies until you are pollen free. It only takes a little to get lots of seeds.

Hey guys. So I did some research on my own. I simply cut a good number of the open flowers off of the main colas and into an air tight glass jar. Left it open for a while to air out a bit and put the jar in the freezer. Then I finally pulled him and tossed him into a plastic bag so the pollen wouldn't spread. I'll be using this pollen pretty soon. Updated on the ladies tomorrow if it's sunny out.
