1st Grow: Jumping Into The Deep End, DWC

Budman, you are rocking it! Looks great!

Thanks BG. I am just trying to keep them alive for a few more weeks ;)

Lorraine is definitely my star right now. She is up to 100% nutrients and drank 2.8 liters of water today!

OK. I am really starting to get excited now. Just a couple more weeks to go, and the buds are getting bigger and frostier! I wish they all looked like this!

Nice grow man, having started in soil, as it was easier they said, and having tried coco for the same reason, I should have started with DWC, its much easier.

No variables beyond nutrients and the basics like pH and humidity and airflow. Much cleaner. No home for gnats or other critters. No bags of expended medium to find places for. It's 100% the easiest way to start I would argue.

My first plants did NOT look this good, you are rocking them out the park!

I agree! that’s a pic of the month for sure!

Absolutely beautiful.
Pic of the month?

Stay safe
Bill

Thanks Bill & BG. I will need to look into that.

Thanks @PlanetJ . I really love hydro. I am already planning my third grow, and plan to go back to hydro, possibly RDWC.

Your doing great Budman! I'm totally jealous you got access to a freeze dryer for your harvest!!! And I'm with Bill in the "no pluck" camp :cheesygrinsmiley:
My parents have every kitchen gadget imaginable, including the freeze dryer. Harvest to cured in 48 hours? Sounds too good to be true.

Apparently one of the best uses for it is to freeze dry bubble hash. Hyena Merica did it in his journal and said it was fantastic.

I have everything to make bubble hash after harvest. Thanks for the tip, I will need to try it.

I have some leaf issues on the white widows. I believe it is a calcium deficiency. I added a low dose of calmag in the last bucket change, so I am hoping it will help. Any other suggestions?

Was the bump done as a result of the leaf? Which came first? Sorry just making sure :lot-o-toke:

If you just did a bump, keep an eye for it get worse. If it just slows, then the bump needs adjustment. How many PPM of cal mag are you using?

I added the calmag as a result of the leaf issues. I added 10ml for 3.5gal, which is on the low side of the suggested dose. Think it could need more?

For the res change I just did on mine, I did 22ml for 3.5 gallons - total of about 200ish ppms

As I'm unfamiliar with your cal mag it's tough to say. But usually 150~200PPM of cal mag is a good determination, keep an eye on new growth and make sure it doesn't spread.

Also keep an eye on your Nitrogen, (some cal mag products have high N values).

Thanks for your help Rexer. I have been lowering the nitrogen (grow) for the past couple of weeks. My calmag does have nitrogen.

@Rexer I have the Botanicare Cal-Mag plus. Is it worse to have too little cal-mag or too much? What is too much? How far until I lock out other things? I added 10ml to 3.5 gal. My water is 80-100ppm, mostly calcium carbonate. With the cal-mag it is around 200.
