1st Grow - Blue Treacle Auto - 250W MH/HPS - Coco

Thank you Dr, with all the talk regarding nutes from birth with Coco i was afraid they were gunna drop dead on me...
hahah, so much stress!
Some preparation for fatherhood!
:passitleft:

I woke up this morning at 6 (Lights on) and gave them both there first feed of Rootfast and A&B at quarter strengths.
Im still trying to get my head around EC levels and wondering if its really essential...
Also am i right to think I'm only checking my PH of the feed i put in, not the run off also??
i should of got more sleep and read less my head hurts.
Photos later today as i did notice the edge of one leaf look a tad strange.

What do i want the PH run off to be?
& is it essential to check?
Ive read a lot that says both so not sure what I'm aiming for..

So i woke up this morning and gave another feed, the only problem is the plants don't look as healthy as they have done...
I will post some pictures tonight for sure and see what you guys think.
Maybe slight nute burn but could be another issue...

Here are some pics from last night.

The last picture show some curling of one of the leaves.

70-80f, Reaching a max of 85f Lights on.
Humidity is between 40 65%, never lower than 40 never exceeding 65.
60-70f Lights off but never lower than 60f.
Humidity stays 40-50%.

Maybe something to do with feeding?
Or light was too close I've read might of been a possibility.

I used a t-5 for my seedlings all the way through veg with amazing growth! I was excited every day I got home to see the difference in growth. Just switched mine to 12/12 HPS 600w. Im new ti this all myself, and I might have just had a stroke of good luck, but by 10 days my plants were much more along. I also used no nutes for the first couple weeks. (Correction*** I didnt use any nutes for a month. When I noticed slight yellowing of the lower leaves (assumed it was nitrogen deficiency, and it was) then I used SOUL nitrogen booster, and started my plants on the Roots Organics system having amazing results. I also used fox farms Ocean Forest soil. It has some bat guano, and worm castings in the soil already and served well enough to feed them at first)

Not trying to jack your thread, but 85° is getting up there. I know that at a certain temperature the plants can start to shut down and stop photosynthesis. Im a late night reader and do all my research and answer searching in the wee hours. It also tends to make me ramble quite a bit. From one newb to another. Back off the light a bit, and no nutes yet. Get that temp to the mid 70's and pure water. And relax.

Thanks Ducky but I've had a lot of advice and I've been recommended to aways feed in Coco and never use pure water.
This is one of my issues with forums full of stoners..So much conflicting info its mad!

85 F is right at the threshold where plant's will begin to stop growing. It could be something to do with feeding, or they could just be having an off day lol

Being in the same boat as you, with some little babies, I don't think you need to worry Mr Berri - I've now spent (far too much) time looking around forums for pictures of seedlings at the same age, and I think ours are fine! And 85 degrees isn't that bad in the scheme of things - plants have plenty of natural variation in the wild, they all come from hot areas after all - and most of the info I have been reading says up to around 90 or 95 you still have photosythesis....

BUT....I have experienced the same as you have - there is very much conflicting information on forums where most people are stoners!

xx

Iļl stick some pics up in a little few mintues of where my children are at.

Coco mania

Doesn't seem to be anything to worry about since those leaves will die and fall off anyway !

Don't feed them next watering and try to get that temp to stay below 85f !

I doubt it's anything to do with the light my friend since I kept my 2x 60w CFL's 1 inch away from the ladies at all times before I put them under the HPS and I had no issues !

This stage is pretty much the most important in your plants life BUT it's pretty impossible to kill a plant unless you were to deliberately do it yourself !

Just sit back and admire them ... If they get worse ... Give the 420 crew a shout again :)

Anywho they do look absolutely fine to me .. I had slight leaf curling at an early stage too but it didn't affect them whatsoever :)

How to put the fear of God in new growers and then releeve it all in one sentence! As you know, I am about the same stage as Berri, just with different method, but I saw the first bit 'MOST IMPORTANT STAGE!!!!'' and panicked about my own plants, then read the second half of the sentence and felt better.

Stop scaring new mums, itš not big or clever! ;)

BUT...thanks for the reassurance :)

Always here with a positive view! Thanks Dr.
They are slightly worse than the pictures here but i will post some fresh ones later tonight for you to have a look at.
I think maybe some nute burn is whats responsible.:MoreNutes:
