1st Grow: Blue Dream

Very true! I couldn’t get a good pic of the leaf issues I had going on the other day. I cut back on some of the nutes I had at full strength and boosted phosphorus. They liked one of those things. Lol. A couple days later most of the symptoms I was seeing were gone. I’m kinda wondering if the defol I did last slowed down the growth. I think the next grow I will just try to do a big one right before flip and then just guide their growth through the first few weeks of flower......sounds good anyway! Lol

That's why I had tried to share the most I could here about stretch. My first grow and the multiple hundreds of pictures I was able to see so far showed me that a trained plant with multiple bud sites have to put effort in stretching all those branches vs an untrained plant which grow only few mains. Because of that I many times so that many people had beautiful trained plants but didn't allow enough stretch in veg before flip. Anyway it s all about learning!

It makes for a good way to control height somewhat. I think a large trained plant would benefit from Veg nutes into the 2nd week of flower, then switch to bloom nutes.

I ve already read that somewhere else. It may be true. I don't know if it s the 13/11 for the first 10 days that played a role, but mine stretched very well. One of the Blue Dream in my middle pot stretched more than I had thought. I know AN line have a lot of veg nuts in their first 2 weeks flowering schedule. Maybe it played a role as well. But again I m pretty sure the more the tops, the less the stretch! That's why allowing one week more of veg for a flat trained plant with multiple budsites is IMO the way to ensure enough stretch later.

some varieties, they don't stretch so much. I have an AK now....have to look really hard to see it, it's so subtile.

Those photos look great. keep on this path. Next couple weeks will be exciting!

Blue dream is one of the ones that stretch at least 200%

Never grown it. But I did just finish a one hitter of it.

How was the taste? Do you know the breeder? Can you share your smoking experience? My blue dream didn't reach their full potential because of some grow mistakes during last grow. Hope that time I ll be able to taste a good one!

I know the grower. It's mid shelf stuff at best, over trimmed hydro. On the dry side, but the last of it. Buds were pretty dense-touch of purple veining to em...it was a nice smooth expressionless smoke. You know the weed.

No idea on the seedstock. I do like the buzz though, I can get stuff done, still have my focus about me, very calming daytime bud for me.

There is a lot of hype behind Blue Dream for sure. Very popular. I’ve never smoked it. Supposed to be a decent yielder and easy to grow so I thought it would be a decent place to start my journey with indoor growing.

I love the stone of it, the stuff I have access too here is sativa-ish, but barely. It's what I call beachchair weed.

I've yet to smoke a slow grown hand trimmed soil version done by someone who is paying very close attention. Yeah, your stuff will be a better smoke than this by far.

I am not the best grower, but my stuff is stronger buzz wise, and has a lot more expression / taste / pleasure of smoke than 90% of what I have ever bought.

That’s one thing I’m really looking forward to. I want some of the people in my life to take a taste of something I grew and it be the best they’ve tried. Lol. That’s one reason also I’m looking at doc buds kit to grow in. Can’t argue with the quality of buds that kit makes.

I think I may throw 4 autos in the tent for the next run just to get some variety. Never grown them so I’ve been gathering some info. Funny how some people are so set against them while others grow them all the time and have no complaints. Lol. Anyway....I’ll give them a shot and see for myself. My tolerance isn’t very high so even if there is a difference in potency I’ll probably not be able to tell. Hahaha

I’d like to try that as well. That was my original intention until I ran across the quadline method and thought I would give it a try. Now here I am wishing they were a bit taller. Haha. I may try the scrog when I run my 707 Headband from Humboldt. Especially if I’m still in the 5” tent.

More and more people sharing here! I love it! Thanks for the report @nobodyhere ! I hope to find the blueberry taste in my blue dream that time! Last time was more haze taste.

Regarding what @Mr. Magoo said I think blue dream is a really good strain to start as well. Plus now that I have already grown it in the past I m able to confirm she s strong and branches a lot during flowering. You may be impressed by how new buds on top of buds appear soon. I remember thinking in my first grow that I could have done way less training as it really started to put buds everywhere in flowering!
Currently my plants look like they have 1 week late behind yours. I hope it s just because of the 13/11 start and they will just take 1 week more before harvest! I ve always seen websites saying the sooner the flowers appear the better the yields will be! So no matter what yours seem doing better than better!

Thanks to everyone sharing here again!

@EastCoastGhost your tent looks solid! It s clean and the plants are doing great and will have good space to expand! Can't wait to see them evolving again and again!
