1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kindsoil

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

I'd be more than happy to help. It's pretty easy once you're set up.

I don't like being wasted during the day either. As bad as my back is, I can function... I'm a remodel contractor... during the day without it. I take a good dose at night and it gives me uninterrupted deep recuperative sleep that allows my muscles to fully relax and eliminates spasms. I can be where it's difficult and painful to get out of my recliner at night after overdoing it on the job, and get out of bed ready to go again! It's amazing!

When I do need it during the day I simply take a smaller dose, but that THC is definitely needed. And over time one builds a tolerance to it, so I don't walk into my customers job on my lips!!

Let me know when you're ready to try making oil and I'll give you my phone number.

Awesome, I appreciate it brother.

Its funny, I spent 22 years in the Marine Corps and my body took a beating. I have bad shoulders, knees, elbows, etc. But I never ever had an issue with my back until I ruptured L4-L5 disk and damaged the facet joints on L3-L4, L4-L5, and L5-S1. Back issue is a whole other animal and you feel it in anything you do. I have been out of work (workers comp luckily) for 6 months (been doing PT while getting shots) but still can't do a lot. I generally stay off everything through out the day but try to take a little something for some night time relief. The most painful part of the day for me is when I lay down in the bed. About 1-2 minutes after laying down, my whole mid to lower back just kicks me in the balls for about 20 minutes. Then it backs off a bit and if I am lucky I get a few decent hours of sleep.

I used to kind roll my eyes when I would hear people complain about back pain.....LOL.....never again. I install medical imaging equipment (MRIs, CT scan, PET-CTs, x-rays) and we deal in some really heavy stuff and major cabling in really small or awkward working areas. I gotta have a decent back to do that stuff, but I can't be under the influence either when doing it. Hoping I can get my back healthy, or at least usable, sometime soon.

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

I appreciate your service!!

Sounds like you are describing my back... almost identical problem. Most of my pain doesn't come from the injured discs themselves. Some nerve impingement but most pain is referral pain, meaning it comes from the inflammation and muscle spasms brought about by the body's response in attempting to protect the injured areas. This is why deep recuperative sleep is so vitally important. When the muscles tighten up to protect spine, they often actually pull discs more out of alignment or cause nerve pinch, and when all tight more apt to re-strain back. Only thing that gives me that type of sleep is full extract cannabis oil.

Do you sleep on your back? I've found that laying down on my side with a pillow between my knees is best. Keeps my spine and hips in alignment taking pressure off discs. I cannot sleep on my back at all. I move from one side to the other back and forth thru the night and overtime became an unconscious thing where the pillow comes along for the ride.

I also find that if I do light stretching before going to sleep it helps a lot... on back pulling knees slowly toward chest stoping when I feel the muscles begin to strain and then slowly applying pressure to stretch the muscles beyond where comfy. Then with one knee up with foot flat and ankle of other leg on raised knee, pulling that knees toward chest. Then switch and do other one.

Hope you get some relief!

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

I'm on my first grow for making oil... I deal with chronic back pain as well. Ive been off all opioids and muscle relaxers for about five years, using cannabis oil exclusively.

My girlfriend told me last night that she read an article written by the guy who bred the original Matanuska Thunderfuck, in which he stated that the original strain had indeed died off. It no longer exists. People have tried for years to duplicate it. So what you likely have is one of those.

All that said, it really doesn't matter the exact strain... what matters is that it's good and provides what's needed! Best of luck to you!

Agreed, if this strain delievers what is needed, it is a good strain :)

Late Day 49 update

Decided to look at the roots on one of the girls last night. Definitely time to transplant them. I got three of them done late last night and have 2 girls and 2 guys left to do (though seriously considering throwing out ATF #3 which is slow growing and male in its preflower). Tent got much more crowded with the girls in their new 5 gallon containers. I am looking forward to seeing how quickly the newly potted plants have some growth explosion. Anyways, quick update.....will take more pics of today's work and the girls in their new houses. Cheers!

Day 49 Root growth (notice they are slowly going through the KindSoil as they see fit and only use what they need at the time) I love using this KindSoil.

Yeah I originally planned on doing this before the weekend but things come up. I think they will be ok, might take a few days to recover but thats ok, I am not in a rush.....I can add another week or two to veg. Got the other two girls done this morning. Still have ATF #4 to do either today or tomorrow.

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

I highly recommend you to use Air-Pots next Grow, you´ll never have any Problems like that again

Yeah I might pick up the 1 gallon size. I like transplanting from the solo cups to a relatively smaller pot size for the early part of the veg cycle because its easier to bring up and downstairs to train them. Then once they are about a month and a half old, transplant them to the 5 gallon smart pots.

You will love them, There are already a lot of roots coming out of the Pots holes at my Grow.

Day 50 update

Finished transplanting the other girls into their 5 gallon smart pots and got them all watered. The only plant left to transplant still is ATF #4. I will do him tomorrow when I pickup a bigger pot to transplant into.

Gotta start retraining with the pipe cleaners to spread and get better light penetration but I am going to let the girls take a day or two to get adjusted to their new homes. Tent certainly got a bit more crowded with them in the 5 gallon pots.

Yeah the two on the right were the ones I did last night, they bounced back pretty quickly cause they were really droopy when I put them in bed last night.

Day 51 Update

Plants seem to be adapting well to their new pots. I started retraining the Blueberry plant and ran out of binder clips so gotta wait for the delivery from Amazon to finish training the other plants. They definitely seem to be liking their freedom of not being tied down. Topped several of the Blueberry branches, as well as one of the ATF female plants.

Temps are hovering 73-78 for the most part the last couple days. RH is sitting between 45 and 50%.

Will post pictures later today.

Wow....15 gallons, are you growing indoors or outdoors? How long are you going to veg for?

So far its behind a few weeks from the atf on this thread. Watching these to see any similarities.

Re: 1st Grow - Alaskan Thunderfuck x4 - Durban Poison - Blue Kush & Blueberry In Kind

Hey PennyWise, question for you regarding breeding for seeds. How important is the male's genetics in regards to seed quality? I ask because I am totally blown away by the health and growth on my ATF #4 male plant (per preflower showing). I am thinking about getting a smaller second tent to keep him alive to breed one of my next ATF batch females. Is it worth keeping a strong male plant around or would it be the same results with any other male of the strain? Will keeping the strong male produce better quality seeds when I breed it?

One other question on this line of questioning.....how many seeds does a decent "breeding" tend to produce? I am sure that there is a huge variance, but I am kind of looking for a minimum type number I can expect. I appreciate your response.....I don't want to lose a great plant for breeding if it makes a big difference in the quality.

Some of the most valuable cannabis plants on the planet are males. Look at a lot of the most popular breeders and you'll see very special male plants at the center of their breeding programs. If you find a male that has everything you're looking for you'd be wise to breed him or keep him to make male clones.

Yeah I kind of figured that. I just ordered another tent to keep him in when I flip these to Flower. I figure I will start another ATF or two and breed him as well as thinking about breeding him with clones from Blueberry, the Blue Kush, and the Durban Poison. I will also probably clone him right before I breed him to keep his lineage going. Thanks for the input brother!
