1st Grow - 2 x Vision Northern Lights Auto/Fem - Coco - 2 x Mars Hydro 300W LEDs

Love those tall cousins to my petite Matilda. Furthermore, you'll get to harvest quicker than I do so you can let me know how good the smoke is! Looking Superb!
Edit: Really appreciate the pics of the trichs, too! If you can, I would love to see pics of the trichs when u decide to harvest. Have you decided what you want, trichs wise, yet? I think I may stagger the harvest to see what I like.

Thanks, MP! Man, your Matilda is looking healthy as. It's fun getting to see your progress with her. In the future I am thinking of going to smaller pots (3 ga) instead of the 5ga and work on keeping them smaller and/or lower. I'm thinking I'd like to have each plant 1 month apart so that I can have close to a monthly harvest and have 3-4 plants going at once in various stages of development. If I stick with autos that should be easy enough. Eventually I'd like to try photos though. So many possibilities, so little room and money to spend on equipment!!! ;)

Trich-wise I think I'd like to try harvesting NL#3 when they are starting to go amber. I may go a little earlier on NL#1. I'm still trying to get it all sorted considering I'd like plenty of dry flower to vape/smoke, but I also want to begin experimenting with edibles, RSO and other concentrates too. I'm keeping everything and using everything, including the roots for something like this (topicals)...

I'm certainly open to all comments and advice in these post-harvest realms as well.

I've placed some of the bottom, very immature buds that came off during my defoil in my vaporizer; took a few puffs and it already gets me really stoned. Doesn't last too long (maybe 30-60 minutes, and I'm a lightweight), but it definitely does the trick. That's vaping something where the trichs don't even show up yet, mostly just pistils and is still kinda wet. If it remains like that with higher potency, longer lasting effects, and better taste (less harshness, not that it's harsh), I'll be completely stoked. It zonked me out last night. I'm primarily growing it to help my wife with her insomnia. If it puts me out, it should do the trick for her sleep issues. Normally speaking, weed helps me stay awake... including the weed that puts her right to sleep. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Thanks again for stopping by. Keep on rockin!

:theband: :goof: :passitleft:

Looking pretty awesome over here I J going to be hanging out a bit if you don't mind. I still want that scratch n sniff app for this iPad, I'm betting that these smell much better than some of those old pipe scrapings. :thumb:

Blessed buds I J !

Ahaha! No kidding, AB! :) I'm so glad you stopped over. Please make yourself at home anytime! Funny, I was just over reading your journal. I'll see you over there too? ;) Peace, friend.

Just stopping on by to check you out and see how things are moving along for you. Hope all is well in your world and the ladies are kicking some butt!!!! We're just learning and trying to figure the basics out but it's great having so much help, we would be lost puppies without everyone steering us in the right direction that's for. Learning everyday but, soooooooo much more to go lol. Can't wait to see more of your girls, we will be watching for sure for sure. Have great evening and Blessed Buds to you.

I J question for you, how do you like the LED lights? We are thinking of up sizing our 400 HID in our 4x4 tent to a 600 HID but wonder if LED would be the way to go instead. What's your thoughts?

Thanks for stopping back over, AB. :byebye: :passitleft:

So far so good on the LEDs. I've been using them from the beginning and from the size of my plants, I'd say they've done the trick. But, this is my first grow so I don't have anything to compare them to and can't supply much in the way of an expert opinion (or even an educated opinion ;)).

Right now, my bud size development is the only thing I wonder about with the LEDs. I've heard that sometimes LEDs aren't the best for flowering and my flowers don't seem to be putting on a whole lot of weight yet. They are getting nice and crystally and seem to be quite dense, but the size/bulk just does not seem to be there. NL#3 is getting close though... maybe a couple weeks more to go before harvest. NL#1 just started dumping out the pistils so I assume she'll be another 4 to 5 weeks before I'll be thinking of harvesting her. I think the LST I did on her stalled her a bit, but now it looks like she's picking up the pace and will actually be competing with her younger sister in the yield dept.

:cheertwo:

I must say though, for $70 each, I don't think anyone can go wrong with these lights. They've certainly surpassed my expectations in the price/quality arena.

I can only get a decent pic at 16x but I also have a 60x-120x microscope.. need to get a magnifier at about 30x I think.

This is NL#3, she's showing a lot of clear and some cloudy.. very few ambers so far:

Am I right in thinking she's still a couple weeks out if I want to harvest with 20-50% amber? Or should I assume 1 week and to begin preparing for the final flush? I have no leaves showing nitrogen deficiency so I feel like there's still a ways to go. I've been doing 2 days ph'd water and 1 day nutes and tips are still burning and curling a bit on both plants.

NL#1 is just starting to show trichs. Pics l8rz.

I found this little guy on the underside of a sugar leaf on NL#3. I think it's a fruit fly from some bananas I had in the kitchen. It was dead when I picked em off. Haven't seen too much else in the way of insects aside from the random house fly from time-to-time. *touches wood*

Went out last night to a show. As I rode up on my bike I see and smell a joint being passed around. They invite me to join them. End up hitting it off and made plans to make a trade after my harvest. One of the dudes sent me off for the night with a couple joints of organic Lavendar (Lavendar review) from NorCal. I just wake and baked some and it has me back in bed laying down with the lappy. I've got the Roomba running, so yeah, I'm getting all productive and getting some housework done, right? ;)

Here ya go, take some puffs and see what ya think ---> :volcano-smiley: RoorRip :grinjoint:

Edit: Bud texted.. apparently he gave me a half joint of Lavendar, half joint of Chemo, and an untouched joint of Agent Orange and Blue Dream mixed. MmmMMmmm

I have sampled some Blue Dream... nice dreamy stuff.... gets me some breakthrus when I work on my writing...how'd you like it? get any creative buzz?

I smoked some Blue Dream a few weeks ago at a concert and I enjoyed it all the way around. Seemed real light and dreamy, like you mentioned. That said, it was on top of a lot of other party favors that night so I don't know that it was a real legit smoke review. This time around I feel like it makes me lethargic and depressed, the exact opposite of what the strain reviews I read about Agent Orange and Blue Dream said. Hmm. lol and I continue to puff away. lol. I do enjoy the taste very much.

Is there anything here I need to be paying attention to? The leaves clawing a bit and the two main colas looking lighter in color and crispier texture-wise? The light is 10" away which seems like plenty.. maybe not.

i think u go perfect...those burns at the edge of he leaf is nothing if u keep going like this....urs looks very nice and healthy...:bravo:

NL#1 is finally beefing up. I stated earlier that if she manages to flower, she'll be beastly. She's beginning to make that statement look like it could come true.

NL#3 is starting to put on some weight. Outside branches are starting to get weighed down so I've put in some stakes to help them stand taller.

I hope all is well in your world! . .

And how could I forget to add that I have germinated NL#4 and placed her in a 3 gallon fabric pot containing 2lbs of Kind Soil at the bottom and Roots Organic soil on top. I PHd the water to 6.8 with citric acid crystals. I wish I would have known that trick before buying PH Down. I plan to try a flux on this little one.
