1st Grow, 2 Noobs, Mystery Beans In Soil & Vermiculite, LEDs & CFLs

OK here are the pics of the 21 day old babies after the over watering incident.
first pic is of pots 1 and 2, second pic is of pots 3 and 4, and third pic is the runt of the litter, the runt is pot 3.

I didn't realize that it took a seedling approx a month before being put into veg..

Must be the genetics because I can put my seeds from 420 to veg after 2 weeks.
But that's how the "mystery beans" roll.
Looking good though.
I'm guessing the LEDs stopped the stretching?

That's what I was thinking this morn. "GENETICS, GENETICS, GENETICS" The last time I grew a plant was about 37 years ago. I went to the beach by the horse stables and mixed some manure and sandy soil put it in a 5 gal paint bucket took it home watered it dropped a seed in it put it on the window sill and left it alone. watered it maybe once or twice a month and it became a tree all by itself.I didn't do anything except put everything together. The horse shit grew it!

Get that lights up 2" I think they are a bit to close.
Some things did not run well.
About 3-5 days old

nice, they look great! I truly believe that genetics has a large role to play in this drama. this is why I did this first grow more as an experiment than anything else so that I could somewhat get things dialed in before I tried it with good genes and possibly throw away good money seeds and time. what type light schedule do you have your babies under? I had mine under 20/4 before I over watered them, then on the advice from Jimmy I put them on 24/0.

You're doing it the right way Jorgie. There are people on here who have spent $100 plus on 5-10 seeds from Dinafem or crocketts for their very first Grow only to fail.
Get the basics first, grow a plant and bring it to harvest in 12-15 weeks, learn as you go. You will make mistakes, shit I've been doing this almost half my life (I'm 44) and just last week I spilled lime on some leaves, frying them. Mistakes happen. The best way to learn is the way you're doing it. Start small, grow big...just like your plants.
I've seen new users here try and tackle a 24 branch manifold with no prior Grow experience. That takes at least an extra month or two.
You can run a complete 12 week harvest in that time.
So you're doing a great job.

I am very happy with the way my babies are recovering! I'm thinking they will be ready for full on veg cycle in another 3 weeks that will make them 6 weeks from seed, if I wouldn't have over watered them I wouldn't have learned a lesson. You can read about something and have book knowledge, but when you go through it you gain experience, now you're not just book smart you're life smart. I'M thinking of adding some more lights. Anyway i'll post some pics tomorrow. Love to my 420 family. God bless. KEEP IT GREEN, KEEP IT GROWING

Yes sir. You can veg them at 24 hrs for as long as you want. If you want to get those buds quickly, veg for two more weeks then flip them to 12/12 and you can harvest in 10-12 weeks from now.
Looking much better.

1st Grow - 2 Noobs - Mystery Beans In Soil & Vermiculite - LEDs & CFLs

No. If you keep it on 24 hours it will never go to bloom. You could literally give it 24 hours light for a year and it would not produce flowers. But you would end up with a 10 foot tall plant with no buds.
If you give it 12/12 now (or in the next few weeks) it will produce a crop in 10 weeks or so.
I'd flip it next week so that you can get on with the learning process and produce a crop.
After that, when you get your "rhythm" you can buy some seed with good genetics.

Now this part is important.
You should go to 12/12 pretty soon. You don't know if these plants will be male or female. I would really hate to see you do a 2 month veg, with LST, manifolding, super cropping or any advanced technique JUST TO FIND OUT THE PLANTS ARE MALE AND CANT PRODUCE BUDS.
That would really suck. So the best thing to do is get a timer and set it to 12 on 12 off and get your first Grow in.

Another guy didn't take my advice in November (also growing from unknown seed) and he put months into training and money on nutrients and electricity JUST TO FIND OUT HE HAD A MALE AND HAD TO DESTROY IT.

I don't want to see that happen to you. So get a timer. Flip it to 12/12. Let's find out if it's a boy or a girl.

I see what ur saying I have been pondering the time and sex dilemma also, so I'm glad u brought that up. now what I ment about the lights is put the on 24/0 until ready to to put them to flower then flip to 12/12, correct

Don't listen to him please. Why this site is so full of misinformation that is easily debunked on the internet and published in hundreds of books I don't know.
