Current Goings-on

Got my closet cat-proofed. Four plants going: A bagseed plant that is doing wonderfully, a month old, vegging, but showing lots of flowers already; a White Widow regular seedling, by Seedsman, about a week old or so; the remains of #3 from my third journal, a bagseed in a 3-liter DWC, and is revegging nicely, but odd-looking; a clone from stated "#3," about a month old or so.
This photo is from 10 December

Lights are on 14/8 right now, tapering to 12/12 in the next few weeks. Hoping I'm gonna have room for the crazy gal in the big soil pot.

Took some close-up shots of the balls, using my jeweler's loupe, the first is 30x, second pic is at 60x.

With these pics finally taken, gonna now chop the boy. Sad to see him go.

Forgot to make a post, been very stoned, lol. On the 24 January, harvest the crazy bag lady. She dried in about two days, and got her in a jar now. Small buds, but they were mostly milky, with a very small amount of amber trichomes. Very good buzz. Yield was lower than I liked, at about 8 grams dry. It makes up in quality, however. Currently, got a good head buzz on, very cerebral, but a couch-lock body stone as well. About 50/50 body/head. Very dry mouth. No munchies. No anxiety, no depression, even keel. Took away my hyperness I had earlier. Calming/relaxing. Pain relieving. Taste-wise, it's a little lemon-y, a little sweet. Smell, it smells strongly of citrus. Small short buds, but I think that's due to me using CFLs. I think I'm gonna upgrade to HPS for flower very soon, and will probably use CFL's just for veg. I still have four or five of the lowest branches still growing, and I __really__ lowered my lights. At harvest, two of the lowest branches were just leaves, and now they have small buds on them, and growing bigger every day. So, I'm going to let it grow, let it grow, let it grow. I still have that clone in there, too, and she's about 16" tall now. Lot's of flowers on her. I'll try to have pictures later today, of the plants, and my harvest.

Oh, and on Saturday 25 January, I planted one KC-45 seed outdoors, in a two-gallon pot of soil, watered, and set her in the sun. We'll see what happens. I might make a journal for it, but I'll definitely keep blogged about it here, at least till it starts flowering.

I had to adjust my lights to accomodate the now-short crazy bagseed gal, and the swimmer's clone.
SS851374.JPG

I did this using bungee cords and ~12g hard steel wire, measured and cut and bent into hooks. Each metal hook is the same size as the rest. I got the steel wire from cutting out my light fixture. It came from a fridge shelf. It allows me to adjust to 2 or 3 predefined lengths, and to adjust infinitely from there.

Howdy to any readers! Update here, a few weeks late. I did a final chop of the crazy bagseed gal, and most of her buds are now residing in a bottle of rum. In its place, I have planted 4 bagseeds and 2 KC 36 (regular) seeds. One of the bagseeds has sprouted. Pics tomorrow, or soon after.

Thinking about building my own LED lighting, but thinking of not doing the blue and red just yet. Found prices for 2700k 100w LED, driver, lens, heatsink, etc, from China, and it's not too expensive, especially compared to most other lighting systems. Alltogether cost less than a hundred, and would be relatively easy to put together, especially if you've ever replaced a computer CPU. Not much different. Only thing not on the list is thermal paste.

100w 45mm 2700k LED module: ~$12

Heatsink and fan: ~$12

Reflector lens and bracket: ~$4

100w power module, 32-36VDC: ~$23

Only thing I'm unsure about is the chip's beam angle of 140 degrees. Not sure if the lens will narrow it down a little or not. The lens doesn't specify it's angle.
