Hi, I've been using this product for a number of years with no issues, It's a lava rock that is used for gas heaters. I have not had any root issues since using this and would recommend using this if you have any root issues, such as root rot as it gets plenty of air to the roots. If you are using bennies it is a great place for your micro-herd to prosper. I place a couple of handfuls in bottom of res and have had healthy roots without any additives.

I've used the same rocks many times over and is easy to clean, they are a bit big when you buy them but a hammer and a bit of time and you can break them into usable pieces to suit your needs, good for a beginner or if have temp problems in res. Hope this may help someone

Thanks @AusyBattler for sharing. How about a pic of your room setup? I wonder if the rock will work as a bed layer for outdoor grow pots?
