Day #84 Flip Day # 42

Happy 6 week flowering birthdays to the ladies. Coming down to the stretch now ... the waiting really is the hardest part.

A while back I wrote about one runner I accidently broke. It's dried out now and produced the girls first mini nug.

Now that the green smell has wore off, the flower smells absolutely lovely. Thankfully, below is not representative of the size of the remaining nugs. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Day #85 Flip Day #43 - :cheesygrinsmiley: Happy Winter Solstice :cheesygrinsmiley:

Plain water day. 6.0 pH out of the tap, good to go. 3L each since last watering 48 hours ago, thirsty girls make bigger buds. It's hard to get a 'bud count' that's accurate but I think there are +-40 bud positions that will produce 'decent' buds of 1 or more grams each. Emphasis on the 'more' desirable :cheesygrinsmiley:.Of those, about 5 are 'cola' size (greater than 4 inches) and at least 2 exceed 8 inches :cheesygrinsmiley:. Wilhelmina and Winterrose are continuing to yellow ahead of Winona and Wynnifred

As harvest approaches I see that I need a few items: New strong shears for the thick parts of the ladies and a honing stone so I can sharpen my old pair :cheesygrinsmiley:: Some latex gloves now thankfully available everywhere, a rare silver lining to this damned Covid cloud :cheesygrinsmiley:: Something for trim processing, I am going to first try to avoid the expense and the effort with a bubble hash machine and instead buy a Trim Tray and a Tee Press Pollen Press to preserve the trim kief as hash nuggets. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Hopefully my photography skill will improve, got to make time to read up on that topic as I'm certain it's been covered in detail here somewhere :cheesygrinsmiley: you all are pretty awesome

:cheesygrinsmiley: Two Cola shots :cheesygrinsmiley:

It's hard to get a shot of Wilhelmina's cola, it's twisted up pretty good and I don't want to screw it or it's neighbors up. Wynnifred's cola is a bit sparse and not particularly photo worthy at the moment but please don't tell her I said so, we still have hopes for her. It's really my fault, I failed to train her adequately and now her cola has too many sub branches. They are all budding up nicely, just with small nugs.

First is Winterrose's cola, the best of the lot. Next is Winona's cola, more than half below the canopy and shot below.

Day # 87 - Flip Day # 45 - according to the Wappa label, now just 10-15 days until harvest :cheesygrinsmiley:

Plain water day, again the Water Gods shine their goodness on us and the tap water came out @ 6.1. 3 liters each. I plan to flush them with only plain water the final week, so they have just 1 more dose of Cha Ching the day after tomorrow :cheesygrinsmiley:. They grow so fast ... Dad was right ... Tempus Fugit.

I picked up the 1 inch shears and disposable gloves yesterday for harvest time.

On the stock up for an Auto grow front, TrueNorth ran a 25% sale on Canuk seeds so I picked up 5 Critical Mass Auto Fems. It's coming with 1 free Cheese Auto Fem, that will make my first Auto run: 1 Cheese, 1 Bloody Skunk and 2 Critical Mass commencing sometime around the middle of April.

I really appreciate all the encouragement and advice from you all. Special thanks to @AzLaker for referring me here in the first place.

Day #91, Flip Day #49 ... ( :cheesygrinsmiley: 6 - 11 Flowering Days Remaining :cheesygrinsmiley: )

CO2 augmentation :cheesygrinsmiley: Rockstar W&B :cheesygrinsmiley::ganjamon:

Watering day. Being the final week more or less, I am flooding the girls until they shed enough water to almost fill their drain trays. Then, I drain their trays with the turkey baster and discard the excess water. The waste water retains a very slight yellow color (I assume) from the previous application of Cha Ching. Today's tap water was a bit high at 7.2 pH but I rolled with it anyway.

My daughter came over with her family for Christmas dinner. We had a fine time as usual. Just before they left my son-in-law wanted to see the array. He was favorably impressed and I wouldn't be surprised to see a new 420mag member soon.

My only regret is poor Wynnifred, I don't think I brought her to her full potential. To be blunt, her cola just doesn't measure up. I'm sure it's my doing. Her cola wound up in what I'll call the southeast corner of the SCrog. As it was filling, I assumed she would continue to stretch allowing me to divert her closer to the center sweet spot, To make matters worse, I failed to trim her cola runners, of which there are now about 12. They themselves have decent small buds, so all together her cola may still measure up, only time will tell. Next time, I will be more mindful to have colas in more ideal locations. After all, a cola is a terrible thing to waste.

Tent gazing has become my favorite hobby. They're absolutely mesmerizing at this late bud development stage.

I did some minor top trimming for the first time in many weeks. Only about 10 leaves. Trying to open up some final light for Wynnifred. All of the leaves had enough frosties on them that they went right into the trim part of the hanging drying tent. Some incidental contact was encountered leaving my fingers wonderfully sticky and sweetly scented. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Today I prepped 4 pots for repotting of the ladies root balls. I am very curious to pull them from their fabric bags to observe their root growth. The new containers have 2 gallons more breathing room. I am using a local south Jersey 60/40 mix of mushroom compost and black soil. I then plan to cover them with burlap and winter them over in the basement, and then try to put them outside in late May hoping for a rebirth ala Mother Nature.

Will be dropping seeds for the next grow before bed tonight, and that's pretty exciting. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Juicy Fruit becoming a more and more prevalent scent down here ... I like it.

Day #93, Flip Day #51 :cheesygrinsmiley: getting oh so close now :cheesygrinsmiley:

Watering / flush day. Thirsty girls again, drinking about 3L each before shedding water. Filled and drained their trays twice today. Buds are getting very sticky. One bud caught some of my flannel shirt and wouldn't let go. I had to peel off some fuzzies, no doubt losing some valuable goodies. Woe is me. One of Winona's sneaky bottom buds has fattened up so much she's leaning over badly. She happens to be just between the top and bottom net and entwined between two larger lobes. I tried to right her but I'm afraid there's a little too much going on there now for safe passage. My hand came out sticky as if I'd been handling cut Christmas trees. Except it smelled MUCH nicer. Joy to the World Indeed!

Thanks! I'm a bit new here, it's my understanding my LED light is not one of the site's sponsors so mums the word unfortunately. It came with a kit I bought on-line, rated at '440 watts' but I think that's as compared to HPS. It consumes around 250 watts and is (supposed to be) optimized for the 2 ft by 4 ft tent it sits in. Here are some specs not mentioning manufacturer:

660 nm (deep red spectrum) for flower, 630 nm (orange) for flower, 460 nm (dark blue) for veg, 430 nm (light blue) for veg, 710 (IR) for resin growth and 10,000 k white light

Yeah...i get that. Its like wearing our taco bell uniform while eating at McDonalds for lunch...do we have a fast food sponsor? We should. :) I would enjoy a constant discount. :D yeah! Ba-ding!
