A Calamitous Cascade Of Catastrophes

Update part 2: Making the oil

All windows and doors were opened for this process and the stability of my double boiler setup checked:

The Isopropyl Alcohol was added to the jar of decarboxylated Cannabis an inch higher than the level of the herb, and shake:

I find around 30 seconds is plenty as I do not want to strip all of the waxes and chlorophyll from the plant matter, then it goes through the first strain:

The plant matter remaining in the sieve was tossed out into the garden and it was on to the second finer strain:

This takes some time as the filters take awhile so I do not mind adding extra:

Into the preheated double boiler and wait until we can get a stable temperature for the oil purge:

Expect this to take some time and I would not recommend leaving the pot unattended at this point, but it is nice to watch the process happening.

Here is how the oil looks at the start:

a couple of hours in and there are some changes:

another couple of hours or so and the oil is almost finished:

It is time:

I made some full strength oil capsules first:

I added some coconut oil into the still gently heated oil so that I can eat more capsules if necessary rather than getting too high all at once:

100 capsules were filled this way, if these last a couple of months I will be happy with the exchange rate, if they last for longer then all the better:

Thoughts:

This was the first time I had used the oil without breaking it down into a pretty weak ecig tincture and damn was I blown away. Do NOT underestimate the power of this oil! I decided to try some of the full strength oil while I was working on the capsules, due to bits of it dropping on to my hand and it being a shame to waste it.

I did not notice much at first but after awhile I noticed that my back and stomach were no longer in the same pain as usual, I also felt extremely high, like stoned high that I have not felt since being a teenager. I was going to upload the pictures that I had took and write this second part when the sudden need to sleep came upon me and to best describe the feeling I will write here all that I managed to write in my personal daily notes:

"I feel the pain still but the pain can no longer feel me and is loosening it's grip. Bliss for awhile"

Yeah I was pretty damn high as I said and it was off to bed where I slept for 10 hours apart from waking up once hearing vivid sounds and having rushes running through my body, it was almost as if I could feel the oil coursing through my body, stopping in problem places and moving on. It was a form of Euphoria swinging with paranoia and it was completely out of control, almost trippy in effect.

After a good half an hour of these feelings and huddling up like a baby in the recovery position trying to bring my breathing and heart rate under control the peacefulness of a calm stone suddenly came upon me and I was out like a light again. I usually sleep for around 6 hours maximum lately and the full 10 hours of sleep was a boon.

Today I feel great, slightly buzzed but not in an 'overdosed/paranoia kicking in' type of way. In fact everything is quite calm and I have no pain, maybe a tiny tickle if I concentrate hard enough.

In conclusion I will personally find it hard to use this in pure form as a daytime medication due to the potency of the stone, but they will be great for night time. Maybe I will grow some CBD and see whether the calming and anti inflammatory effects are enough, but I am still damn impressed with what I made yesterday, I mean can people complain about strong weed really? I am happy that I diluted the majority of the oil with Coconut oil though and I will remember this in the future.

Until then may your buds be forever bountiful :Namaste:
