Another action packed month has passed and your back room team have been running around as usual, keeping 420 Magazine clean of spammers and spambots and full of positive energy. As March is here, a special ‘Happy Outdoor Growing Season’ to all our members in the Northern Hemisphere who will be prepping soil and germinating soon. Stay safe, everyone.

We always say that we wouldn’t be here without our Sponsors. However it’s equally true that 420 Magazine wouldn’t be such a great mission without you, our members. We are always grateful for your presence, contributions & positive energy. New Staff Members
We are delighted to welcome two new staff members who have joined us in the last few weeks.

Dwight Monk
Dwight Monk, formerly known as UrbanMonk, has joined us as Spambot Patrol!

Dwight’s spirit of volunteerism is inspiring and without the commitment of members like him, we would never be able to continue in our mission. He has been instrumental in assisting us with spambots for months and is now in the back with us, absolutely rocking those pesky bots, grabbing many before they get the chance to spread their nonsense.

Brother Dwight, we are truly grateful for your help in our mission to create Cannabis awareness to the world, so that we may end these laws and get all of our brothers and sisters out of jail.

Curly Beaver
And more recently, Curly Beaver, formerly known as BeaverIslander, has also joined Spambot Patrol.

Curly is still going through his training, and we truly look forward to him soon standing side-by-side with Dwight in what sometimes seems like an endless battle. Curly has been a great member out front, and we’re sure will now be an invaluable addition in the back.

Thank you, Curly. As with Dwight, we are truly grateful for your time, your spirit and your presence.

Rex Pigeons
In other staff news, Rex Pigeons, who we welcomed last month, has become our new Gallery Moderator. As most of you know, it’s an invisible but hugely valuable job. We could not be more grateful to Rex for taking on this invaluable role, ensuring that 420 Magazine remains the smartest, cleanest and most easily read of all Hemp and Cannabis websites.

New Members With Fewer Than 50 Posts
Thanks to our tech team, we have managed to find a way to prevent members with fewer than 50 posts from voting in the contests. This means that we no longer have to edit the voting manually. In addition, it will also eradicate spamming via private messages. This is good news for staff and members alike.

Congratulations
During an unofficial gathering of 420 Magazine members in Jamaica, Canna Montana & Nismo got married. We read that, despite an early problem with the resort not honouring some reservations, the week was a blast for everyone. All of us in the back room add our heartiest congratulations to Canna and Nismo.

Fallen Cannabis Warriors
From joy to sadness. Recently, we have lost three iconic Cannabis Warriors.

Mark Heinrich aka Smokin Moose sadly passed away, losing his final fight with SMA Syndrome. His 420 Magazine obituary is here – Fallen Cannabis Warrior: Mark Heinrich aka Smokin Moose

Master cannabis breeder Franco Loja, half of the team behind the popular Strain Hunters series, has died while filming an episode in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The cause of death is still unknown, but there are unconfirmed reports that Loja succumbed to an aggressive case of malaria. His 420 Magazine obituary is in progress and will appear soon.

And finally, one of 420 Magazine’s greatest members, Jim Parker, aka OldMedMan, sadly passed away at 5.12pm on February 19, 2017 in his home on Kailua, Hawaii, at the age of 75.

Our most sincere condolences go to his widow, Jo. Please visit Jim’s 420 Magazine obituary here.

Tech Updates
We have fixed the piece of code delaying page loads on User CP, User Profiles and the Thanks/Likes pages. There’s always more to do however, to keep 420 Magazine running quickly and efficiently for all of our valued members and welcome guests.
