The NPRA has very exciting news... The National Patients Rights Association has been hard at work to change the legislation in Michigan so that Michigan Medical Marijuana patients are able to have options and safe-accessibility regarding their medicine. That is why we drafted House Bill 5580, the "Safe-Access bill". We did not think that this important piece of legislature would be decided upon for several months, however we are ecstatic to announce that House Bill 5580, the "Safe-Access" bill, is on the table today to be voted upon in the Michigan House of Representatives! If this bill passes it will set provisions for safe-access clinics all over Michigan to be able to legally operate, and will help to negate the decision that had been ruled upon last Friday by the Michigan Supreme Court. This bill is crucial to the medical marijuana movement in Michigan, as it will allow patients to be able to obtain their medicine reliably and safely. The medical marijuana community needs your voice now more than ever! Please take a few moments of your time to contact your local state representative, either by phone or e-mail, and let them know that you are a medical marijuana patient, or are in support of medical marijuana, and you believe that passing House Bill 5580 will greatly improve the ability of patients to be able to safely acquire medicine that they need. Without proper outlets to obtain medical marijuana, patients would then be burdened with either producing it themselves, relying solely on their specific caregiver and their supply, or by getting it from unsafe illegal sources.
