For the second time I over-dried my bud….F the “snap test” method to determine dryness!!
I’ve read countless forums, posts, and articles about when to know yr bud is dry enough to bag..and the snap test is what u read most…but I’m here to say…even as a noob….tht method sucks!!…
It’s bn days since full harvest and the stems just sitting on my kitchen table… still fold, not “crack/snap..with using SMALLER THAN A TOOTHPICK size stems…so..to wet still right?..nope..when I jarred the bud,..it only topped 53%. Very upsetting
i ran my dry for 9 days at average of 63f ..53-55%rh…so my environment was good…low air flow (no direct air on hanging plant)…left allot of fans leaves on…

every indicator showed it needed more drying..but tested many diff meters in jarred bud and..to dry!!

So yeah, it’s a learning curve,.I’ve gotten good at the grow, need more dry/cure experience
.I know now to use multiple methods to test its dryness/wetness..

….as the SNAP TEST ISN'T RELIABLE!..it’s always over dried by tht point in my experience and opinion ..……

lucky I have 2 clones I can experiment with to gain some knowledge.

As for the bud from this grow: it may have over dried abit..but man it’s a good smoke…soft on the throat, amazing smell, taste..and mellow high..right off the plant. I have gotten good at RE-hydrating..(since I over dried b4)..so with adding some moisture back to these beautiful buds, I’m happy with this run….EXCEPT for the tally: came in under my lowest expectations..but the clones will raise tht bar…so all in all…got some good bud…learned some new things. :yummy: :Namaste:
Welcome to 420Magazine my friend :welcome:
If you want to say Hi and meet everyone here is a link
Hope your learning lots and enjoying yourself.
Happy Growing.
I always put off culling and end up with weeks wasted, this is the last time I hope. Today I am culling 2 to 4 plants, I am happy that I have some vigorous little ladies to put in their places, were going to make it happen now that I have finally settled on a flow speed that works well for hydroponic grows, I was thinking that I could get it better for some reason, turns out of it works go with it 😂 we're going to do a photoshoot at somepoint, I hope today, I am really missing like five hours of sunlight and it is having an effect on me. I envy those who have 12 hours of sunlight 365
Just gettin started on a new batch of "cookies". Six different types using my own redneck DWC method !!! Photos to follow .
i hope that everyone is having a great night, if not it will get better.
Thank you for being here today.
Hey there @Greenvein
So, what's up with something that I see in your signature about finally blooming your 30 yr old plant?

How's it Mr budman. That journal is complete but I'm going to flower her again soon 😁. Good question though, I'll do one more post for you on my journal for you to give a deeper understanding 👍
How does one deal with heat when growing outdoors, first hot day tomorrow, I'm a little worried how the girls will go 😳

In pots, thermometer is only saying 29, lucky we are getting a bit of sea breeze off the beach so think she's okay so far 😊🙏

Just make sure there is ample moisture, especially in flower. These plants are native to outdoor environments and you can't beat the sun as a light.
