So I've been trying to plan this grow for a while now so here it goes. Ill be planting her tonight with pics of the process.
4x4x6 high rise grow tent
2x 600watt Ipower leds
3.5 gal plastic pot with drainage holes.
Medium is going to be 70% 1mm topdressing sand for golf greens then 30% soil perlite mix
Ill be using my normal fish emulsions and hi brix (molasses) and a shot or 2 of cal mag
Strain will be zkittles from seedsman given to me from a friend
If I missed anything please ask I'm not shy. Haven't seen any sandy grows or even heard much but I can grow some great grass cut under a eighth inch in sand with great roots so here it goes

All is well this morning I'm thinking it's gonna be tough to water until I can figure out how often to water. Pretty excited to see how she does in the super sandy mix

Here she is after 1st nite in tent with her sisters seemed to be a great nite.

Looks like they're off to a good start KTM! :thumb:
Haven't seen any sandy grows or even heard much
It's not something iv'e grown cannabis in, but if i remember correctly i did see @ProfessorFlora has a sand mix going and he's doing great, check in with him if you got any question on it.

Hey KTM! It's good to see people experimenting and trying things a little differently. Basically I ended up becoming short on cash so I decided to recycle my soil. When planning my grow using the recycled soil it never occurred to me that I wouldn't have anyway near enough. I only filled the pots about a third of the way up with the soil and needed something to bulk it up. After plenty of research I decided on sand as I could get pretty much an unlimited amount for free. The sand I used is different to yours and is a coarse yellow building sand made from flint. I transplanted my young veg plants into the 5 gallon sand and soil mix and they flourished. I've not had enough experience with it yet and have only had to water them once since I transplanted and discovered that the mix doesn't quite hold as much water as soil alone but it's good enough. It feels more like a hydro grow than soil. All I'm using for nutrients is MegaCrop at the recommended dosage with each watering. I look forward to seeing how yours turn out as I've been pleasantly surprised by the results so far :peace:

Still on track thinking roots are digging in sand very nice she's going through some spurts of a little growth then not much at all. These autos seem to just chill until roots hit base of pot.

Not much new tonight still going well. Ill wait till next water which will be a bit more than last which was like 20 oz. Prolly stick with just water for another week or so then add some fishy in.

Good growth last 24 hrs. This weekend I will raise her up and start some fish poop. Overall very pleased so far
