Zen1221's 6000w HPS Grow White Widow - Carmelicious - Bubalicious - Sensi Star 2012

This is my second large grow. Had to harvest my first grow early due to a massive spider mite infestation. My goal obviously is to avoid another infestation at all cost's.

I didn't document the exact date I put these in soil but I believe it was around two weeks ago.
Strains: white widow, carmelicious, bubalicious, sensi star (64 plant's total)
Soil: FoxFarm Ocean Forest
light: starting with 8 bulb T5, when they get bigger I will be moving under 3 1000w MH, flowering will be done under 6 1000w HPS cool tubes.
temp is up to 84F and RH is down to 27% (just invested in an A/C to get the Temp. down to around 75F, I have a humidifier but I need to get a filter for it tomorrow, going to try and get the RH up to 60%)
I am using plain R/O water thus far, no nute's yet. I'm planning on adding 2ml per gallon cal-mag within the next couple of days.

As far as destroying the spider mite's, I just dipping them in Floramite SC/LS at a concentration of 1/2 teaspoon per gallon yesterday. I'm going to dip them again in two week. Before I move the baby's down in to the basement (where the infestation was last grow), also where these are going to live out there life, I'm going to bleach the whole room and use a doktor Doom Fogger, I hope that's enough to kill most of the mites. I'm also going to hang a hot shot pest strip. I'm hoping this regiment will do the job. They are some resilient little bastards though.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'll get more pic's up tomorrow.

I am definatly subbed. The ocean forest is good stuff. As far as the mites are concerned;

No pets in the room, no house plants in the room, some good barrier spray like max home defense on all the corners, around the doors and windows before you black them out,(I spray that shit every where I can) change your shoes and clothes if your working outside before you go into the garden. I think that is it for my spider-mite prevention advice. I am no good at getting rid of them once I have them, so I try real hard not to get them.

Looking good man.

Thanks for the advice, so far so are good keeping the mites off the new plants. I managed to get the temps down to 72-75F, got the RH up to 30-40%. I'll get some pics posted soon.

So they are now at day 14 since they have germinated. I had to get rid of 14 to get me down to 50 plants where my plant count needed to be. I have some rust colored spots on a few of the leaves. I'm not sure what it is but I think it might be from the floramite solution. I put the plants right back under the light after I sprayed. What do you guys think?

Hey man

Where did you get the caramelicious? Also I would love to know which ones they are when you put up pics next, so I can get a benchmark. (Mine are caramelicious as well).

Cheers

I got the caramelicious from attitude seedbank. Here are some new picks. I have them seperated and labeled by strains so you can see what's what. They are at day 20 now, I just topped them 3 days ago.

Day 22: Just transplanted them into 1 gallon pots and put them down into the grow room. I am currently using 3 1,000 watt switchable ballasts. I am using a Gen-e1 generator and a CAP co2 regulator, been keeping co2 at 1000 PPM's, temp's have been staying between 80-85F, humidity is at 40-50%. All the lights are air cooled by a 700CFM fan and 2 350CFM booster fan's. I am mixing my nutes up to 600 PPM's with botanicare and Cal-Mag. Here's some pic's.

Thanks man, it's so far so good with the mites, doin' alot of prevention this time. the meds were pretty good last grow, the yield is the only thing that really suffered as I had to harvest early. Had a few minor problems this grow as I'm still trying to get my nutes dialed in but other than that things have been great. I'll keep posting the pic's every couple days, thanks everyone for stopping by.:thanks:

Re: Zen1221's 6000w HPS Grow White Widow - Carmelicious - Bubalicious - Sensi Star 20

day 13 of flowering: Switched over to flowering 13 days ago after a 30 hour dark period. After removing the males I am down to 21 plants out of 44. I took 2-3 clones off each plant for my clones for my next grow. The biggest problem I've been having so far is the heat down here. It's been over 95F outside for the last month. They started showing heat stress because it was getting up to 98F with the lights on in the grow room! I had to upgrade my ventilation system, before I only had 1 6" inline fan with 2 boosters for the lights and a 10,000BTU dual hose A/C unit for the room. I still use the 6" inline for the lights and the A/C but I added 8 250CFM booster fans and an 8" inline fan for ventilation for the room. I also had to stop using CO2 due to the fact the generator put off WAY to much heat. I have the temps. down to around 88F, still pretty hot but they aren't getting heat stressed anymore. Been watering every other day rotating nutes and R/O water every other watering. I'm using botanicare bloom and Cal/Mag, I'll be adding black strap molasses at day 30 of flowering. I will also be dunking them in neem oil once a week for the next couple of weeks to keep the spider mites off of the ladies.

her some pics of the clones I'll have some updates on my flowering plants as soon as I get them uploaded probably later tonight. The clones are all about 20", I've been topping them as needed trying to keep an even canopy. I've got them under to 8 bulb 4' t5's. I'm going to veg them for another month until the flowering room gets cleared out.
