Just experiencing.. coke bottle with top and bottom off. I planted these seedlings in the bottom of the bottle then transfer them into the middle section. These two plants are 4 weeks old, and due for their first pot plant transfer. The roots are encouraged to go straight down and when transplanted they have taken very well. You can see the good root growth, I did think they would burn due to the exposure but no porblems at all. Every second water I just water into the tub at the bottom to encourage the root reach.. what do you think.. DUMB or no reason why it should not work :) would love some feedback .. tks guys

Looks good besides the clear pots, toss some tape or paint on em ASAP

They look happy, and the process makes sense indeed

Nice job

Now cover up those roots!!!!

If you could and like to experiment, could you keep a clear pot going, please... thinking, Airpot with enough holes, pruning roots, not sure clear will be an issue.. roots growing out hole should stop them from wrapping around edge, leaving soil to protect roots from light exposure...

:rofl: closer look, those dimples aren't self made airports are they? oh well, good experiment... I agree with others, cover those roots

Hi GrizzWald.. I will definately do that.. sounds like a good idea .. will keep posting :thankyou:

I just thought of a idea you could make a sleeve to block out the light so it does not interfere with the roots, but remove when you want to see if it's ready to transplant.
