Just experiencing.. coke bottle with top and bottom off. I planted these seedlings in the bottom of the bottle then transfer them into the middle section. These two plants are 4 weeks old, and due for their first pot plant transfer. The roots are encouraged to go straight down and when transplanted they have taken very well. You can see the good root growth, I did think they would burn due to the exposure but no porblems at all. Every second water I just water into the tub at the bottom to encourage the root reach.. what do you think.. DUMB or no reason why it should not work would love some feedback .. tks guys

Clear / Translucent pots are terrible for roots, I'd change these if I were you

Good idea but I agree with the fam, tape em up or paint em black and you'll be golden.

If you could and like to experiment, could you keep a clear pot going, please... thinking, Airpot with enough holes, pruning roots, not sure clear will be an issue.. roots growing out hole should stop them from wrapping around edge, leaving soil to protect roots from light exposure...

Hi the dimples are in the bottle.. Sprite drink but I am going to make holes in all those dimples with the next one and see how it grows

Don't use clear pots, as said already the roots can burn and get hot and it never ends well.

I just thought of a idea you could make a sleeve to block out the light so it does not interfere with the roots, but remove when you want to see if it's ready to transplant.

Just transplanted.. awesome roots straight down.. no burn to the plant and its looking great.. thats a great idea though thanks
