Yes its another temp?

first off. the specs ars 4"x4"x6" noninsulated box in a noninsulated shop. light 400w. 18-20" above tops. pots are 5gal with 5 parts peatmoss 1 part vermiculite and 1 part perlite. nutes are the bc line.

so its winter and here in the great nw usa its starting to get cold it will get down to the low 20s f. so my ? is i have a 700wat heater for lights out. sould i just set it on the floor or hang it from the top. either way i get a differance in temp from hi or low depending on heater placment so is it better to be hotter on top or down on the pots?

Have you tracked your temps inside the grow? My average lights on temp is only 72, and lights off gets down to 63. I haven't noticed any problems. If you move the air around w/ some fans, the heater should work hi or low. keeping the grow medium cool is probably the best plan.

first off thanks for the reply. lights on 75f lights off it got down to 45f one night so now i have them on 24 and temps stay ok now. butt planing for 12/12 and we will have colder nights and days to come.

Maybe everyone was trying to figure out what the thread title, "yes its another temp?" meant?

sounds like adding the heater, and a thermostat for it, should fix your temps. maybe throw a few blankets over the grow box to hold in some heat.
