My friend plans on growing White Widow outdoors ths year, but it gets very hot (90-95f) an humid as hell in veg as well as the the majority of flower. I've read tht ww is quite prone to bud rot, but on the contrary..I've also read tht it will do fine since it's bread from 1/2landrace. I just dont know if should keep indoor or if can roll with it in these outdoor conditions.? I appreciate any an all help 420

I grew a White Widow outdoors last year, and had no problems with PM or bud rot. I live in Calif Bay Area with temps that are typically 80 - 95F during the summer, with some days reaching above 100F. Humidity is typically not bad most days 40-60%. I kept it outdoors the entire time from May to October.

Yes, I used 20 gallon fabric pots with Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil. WW yielded about 25 oz of cured buds for me last year. Feel free to check out the journal link in my signature.

Good luck on your grow!

I def will. How fast did ur soil dry up..were u having to water frequently?

I usually watered every 3 days. During heat waves, every 2 days. I fed them every other watering.

I was wonderin because my friend is goin outdoor ths season an wanted to kina get an idea of how often be visiting the site..watering/feeding. Goin into 5gallon smart-pots because wanna keep them stealth. U dont think they will get too root bound an mess things up do ya? Tangerine dream, ww, an amnesia lemon

I dont guess thy would in fabric pots..ths first time using smart pots. If the roots grow out of the bag will the sun not hurt them or do tht air prune

5 gallon would be ok, but they will get root bound if they are growing healthy. Not really a big deal, but they will stay relatively small. My first year, I grew 5 plants. 4 of them got transplanted into 20 gal while one of them stayed in a 10 gal pot. It was definitely smaller than the others, but otherwise quite healthy and yielded OK - just smaller.

The roots won't grow out of the sides, but they will grow through the bottom and into the ground if left undisturbed.

Should I dig a hole to put my pots in or should I jus leave them free-standing
My opinion is: "If you are going to dig a whole, then put the plant in it and skip the fabric pot."

I'm jus fearful tht if I put directly into the ground I wont be able to move if necessary. Is it true tht u cant give a fabric pot too much water?
