Wow brother, Thank You very very much!
Yes it’s been a long and winding road that’s for sure. I can’t believe you remember me and all the good times we had here on the boards! It is terrific to hear from you and I truly hope you are well.
Yes I wound up founding the first Legal tax paying Canna Business back East in RI around 2010 as part of settlement (plea bargain) of the criminal charges against me back then.
The judge threatened me with 30+ yrs Mandatory Minimum if I lost at Trial and if I beat the marijuana charges he told me he would sentence me to prison on the lesser charges of Assault on Police, Resisting Arrest, and some other bullshit misdemeanors so I took the plea of time served and the license to open a direct sales Collective.
I started looking West at Colorado, and Oregon, in 2013
I did travel out west looking at property in Oreg byh on, Colorado, Washington & California back then and was in Oregon the day they turned REC.
I thought we would buy and land in Oregon but wound up traveling up and down the entire coast a few times before deciding on our current location in the Heart of the Emerald Triangle
We did exactly like the Beverly Hillbillies and loaded up my 2006 F-250 and drove across the nation meeting with other business owners looking at opportunities in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and California.
Having a small LED grow is a great idea and I have seen many put out magnificent bud. I wish you Godspeed and lots of luck.
Thank You again for your friendship and support! It is truly touching that you remembered me.
The question you asked has me a little confused as there was a 420Mag member who was our great friend named Med Man from Hawaii who passed away and I do remember growing and smoking the Medicine Man strain back then also.
As for favorite strains it changes from year to year but I do love Super Silver Haze and other Sativa’s but here they just don’t sell anymore. The Rec market is a race to the bottom and I would encourage all that the Medical Marijuana Programs were much better for people who use and consume cannabis.
This past season my favorite bud (flower) was Governmint Oasis, and Molotov cocktail from Purple City Genetics.
This year I have some others from Seedjunky that I am currently working with and have high hopes.
Great talking with you and I look forward to posting more updates here soon.
I just finished planting one greenhouse and am working hard to get another ready ASAP.
I will add some pics of my progress as I just finished and recorded approval of my CEQA plans and engineering after 7yrs of wrangling engineers, environmentalist, experts, and state agencies.
It’s late now and I have to get some sleep. Look forward to talking with you soon
What you went through would Break most people! And knowing it could happen to anyone (me), kept me in compliance! Well mostly, because you were only allowed 2.5 ounces per patient. So with 5 patients, and self, that's only 15 ounces. Atleast now, they changed the law (in Michigan) so you can have as much as you grow!

I am curious what happened to the Direct Sales Collective? Seems to me that would be a lot less work, and potentially just as profitable?

I was referencing your post in your thread "The Strongest", where you touted Medicine Man. I perpetuated the Sour Strawberry for years, and wish I didn't lose it. It was my patients favorite too. Although, I grew 3 strains that I couldn't give away because they were TOO INTENSE for my patients, Papaya, Strawberry Cough, and Tutankhamun.

I look forward to seeing your success in your current endeavor! You have achieved ROCK STAR status in my book! I am Sooo pleased that you came back to share this with us!

ROCK ON Brother! Godspeed!

Thank You Bill284 I truly appreciate your kind words and friendship. Bottom line it’s our responsibility to get it done and we have resigned ourselves to the fact that we will do it alone, and just grow less weed.
As you know if the flowers are not perfect in every regard from cultivation, to harvest, to drying and trimming the product will not sell. Add into this mix that the cannabis must test clean, be over 25% THC, to even be considered worthy to enter the market here in CA leaves no room for anyone not completely dedicated, knowledgeable and well funded to compete. Even then it is totally up to Distributors to market and sell to retailers. This is the worst situation imaginable because you can grow the absolute best most perfect cannabis but still get screwed by distro and retailers who simply don’t want to pay.
It is a broken system engineered to put small farmers like me out of business.
Yet I press on
So much truth comes from you man. Keep pressing on! You’re killing it

Yes I had opened and operated the first legal retail on the Eastern Seaboard for years but then the competition hired lobbyists to lobby the legislature to restrict plant count for all but them. It’s a very corrupt system back East, that benefits legislators and their chosen representatives to open businesses with plausible deniability or use law enforcement to protect the racket so it’s not going to change.
I sold my property, gave away hundreds of plants, a lot of trimmed flower, oil butter and extracts to membership for free.
Nobody would take over they were all afraid of the municipal harassment and laws being manipulated in the legislature to hurt independent small operators.
My thinking at the time was to leave the notoriety and come west to be a grain of sand on the beach where I’m not the only one involved in commercial cannabis
I achieved that here in NorCal but also learned the system here requires licensees to hold multiple licenses or “stack” them to have control from Seed to Sale
Im actually looking at other locations worldwide and who knows what can develop

Beautiful garden my friend, (love what you grow)
Thank You
Heres some from the other day I took the clear plastic off as it was 103F here
I try to take pics but am slaving away and often forget because I leave my tel behind in the house because I’m always losing it.

WooHoo!

I bet you would Succeed if you decided to go that route! I mean... Look at what you have accomplished! You are NOT the same person who joined this site in 2009!

You are a Disabled persons WET DREAM!

I am sure most people here are AMAZED at what you are doing, and they may not even know what you went through physically?

You could go on the road and be the next Tony Robbins! ❤️

Thank You

Looking great!
Thank You brother and we truly appreciate your help the other day. Wishing you a fantastic season and looking forward to having a beer together sometime

Here a few pics of some Brr Berry Watermelon Z x Wedding Cake and I will post up some of the other gear but I’m still planting another greenhouse that had to be rebuilt and I have been moving the other greenhouse so that’s not planted yet either. These agencies with their rescheduling watercourses and screwing compliant licensees around has become the norm here in the Triangle. Picking on cultivators has become a perennial game for these folks. The regulatory agencies say “get licensed, once you do your safe and your footprint doesn’t change” that’s a lie. They have you jumping through hoops non stop.
I will post up some pics as I’m going back to the flat again now and will bring the tel

Hi all I know I have not been super diligent about getting posts up but it’s exhausting working and when I come in and sit down to post I wind up falling asleep writing lol here are some pics
I’m headed back to the salt mines and will post some pics of today’s work.
The pics below are in the greenhouse I take the plastic off when it’s too hot and can put it back in minutes. If there is anything that working alone does is guarantee you become jack of all trades as there is nobody going to do the work but me and no one is coming to save me. lol

So here’s some of my work that we trimmed ourselves to have some fresh smoke when it dries
This strain has purple hues on top flowers but these buds were taken from a lower side branch and not much purple here but it sure looks tasty.
While my wife and I work our butts off doing everything here on the farm, we still the time to do things correctly. We take great satisfaction and have a sense of pride in producing high quality flowers that pass the strict CA testing requirements to be fit for human consumption.
There are many growers who do not care what goes into the cannabis at all. Many do not smoke and have not smoked in a very long time. I have heard repeatedly the line of least resistance attitude of why do the extra work, why spend the extra money, why not use banned pesticides, fertilizers, bloom boosters, and chemicals to do this or that?
My answer is always the same:
“Hell No, to the No, No, No,
Hell to the No!”

I give great thanks to Almighty God, without whom no crop, comes to harvest.

I thank Bishop Bullwinkle for his stirring sermons and song.

If anyone has any questions about how what where or when please ask away. My beliefs are there is no such thing as a bad or stupid question.
The only bad question is the ones not asked.
I certainly did not wake up one day and start growing commercially out of the blue. I definitely did not borrow a few million dollars of my mom or dad to “get into the cannabis industry”
It has been a long hard road and no matter how great or glamorous the internet makes any industry seem don’t believe the hype!
Bottom line it’s tons of hard work in 125*F (52*C) heat and blazing sunshine that feels like a laser beam. Or freezing cold nights, followed by chilly mornings, torrential rains, hail, and thunderstorms that truly produce swollen creeks and rivers in short time.
If you are adversed to hard work, being completely self reliant and hours away from civilization I would not recommend the rural mountains of Northern California

That being said nobody is trying to say that I have not had help over the years.
I have learned from countless people and gleaned snippets of knowledge along the road and also from the great folks here at 420Mag. So if anyone has any questions please feel free.
I will continue this tomorrow and show what’s on deck
Thanks again to everyone for coming along and I apologize for being stretched so thin and will continue to do my best.
🙏
