Wierd bud

OK YOU SAY WIERD.
I have one leaf with a bud growing right out of the center of the leaf where the leaf blade and stem join together there are about 8 or 9 calyxis at the point of convergence it is red and ready. I have asked alot of people but nobody has seen anything like it.
HAS anybody out there seen anything like it?
