Why are my calyx turning brown and falling

hi guys I have a sativa plant growing outdoors its at week 2 of flowering and for about 3 weeks now I have been noticing at the bottom of the plant my calyx are starting to turn brown and they fall off its only happenings at the main stem oh yea it also started after I started cutting off some of my big leafs can same one help me

Did you ever get answers to the brown calyx issue. I have something similar on my outdoor crops. Are thos safe, i have been removing them. Also looking with microscope they are a bunch of trichomes on them.
