White Widow Flowering Length?

I am nearing completion of my first grow of White Widow and would like to know why people suggest to flower for 10 weeks. Is it to increase yield or for better quality smoke or something else ?

every strain will be slightly diffrent. watch the trichomes with a 10x loop. when they change colors 75% harvest them.

Dade Pine - I am approaching harvest now. I just checked the Trichs with a 30x loupe and they arent milky yet. Next week should be it.. week 10
