White Cookie clone disaster

yikes ...

i got two of these crashing quick...

full

white cookie clone. about one week after transplant from solo cup. in hempy.

feeding AN trio. micro, grow, bloom at 25% strength. 270ppm. on a feed/water sched. feed - day off - water - day off - repeat. the water side is RO and cal-mag. everything is ph'd to 5.6 - 5.8.

this happened pretty quick. everything looked healthy 48 hrs ago. blotches started first, then the rest started yellowing out 24hrs later. the dark blotches didn't start at leaf tip. pretty much everywhere through the whole leaf.
i'm brutal cloning and in early veg on plants.

other relevant info:

furnace kept cutting for hours at -30c and they darn near froze. had an electric heater in the space but they got down to a low of about 12c at one point, then would get cooked at 30c. this kept happening over a 5 day period. finally getting room conditions back to normal. usually runs about 20c - 24c.

RH is a problem. you can see the bubblers going. runs between 15% - 25%.

my thoughts :

they look plain hungry to me for starters. but i'm not sure. they are usually lighter feeders than the other stuff i got going. they are finicky a bit normally as well.

the dark blotches kinda look like phosphorous deficiency to me.

have black indica clones as well, if anything they look to be slightly nute tipping. otherwise ok.

i'll call out to @Chris Scorpio @DV-travis @FelipeBlu since all doing hempy iirc and anyone else who wants to take a stab at this.

TIA everyone :green_heart:

will check back... gotta go shovel

Looks pretty shocked for sure

At that age I'd be around 1/2 strength nutes and always full strength or a bit more calmag

How often u watering them

I'm sure the Arctic cold isn't helping, but maybe up the nutes a bit and try and keep em warm

thanks for the reply chris.

fed/water every second day.. i'm thinking of upping the nutes.

do you think there'd be any benefit going after phosphorous first, or just roll everything up across the boards ?

I'd just roll it up

That cold could have effects too, so keep an eye on em for sure

thanks. will give that a shot.

furnace is fixed for now so i should be back to normal. usually have a heater with a thermostat in there to keep everything evened out. just couldn't keep up without the furnace to help lol.

What Chris said. Cold temps will reduce phosphorus uptake. Keep em warm and up the nutes to 1/2.

Out of curiosity, how did you transplant from solo cup - flood and float or dry and all together with perlite in shape of the cup?

method b. similar to soil. transplant then water in.

had loads of root structure. they were started first in a homeboy bubble cloner, then on to solo, then to a final 2L bucket.

will definitely bury them a bit deeper next time. i put everyone an inch or so above the res and water to the outside. straight perlite.

was thinking the same about the phosphorous. reason for musing about going right after it.

oops - thanks for chiming in felipe

One thing about 100% perlite Hempy. You have to get the nutes to it quick and up to full as fast as you can. And you HAVE to run cal/mag the whole grow.
My full strength is 7.5-15-7.5 and cal/mag. I run that the whole grow.

That’s an interesting NPK ratio (1-2-1). What was your experience that prompted you to boost the P (during veg especially)?

I kept having issues. And that seemed to be the magic number the smoothed everything out. We will see if the new strians I'm starting go that way. Only at 1/4 nutes so far. For the last year it's something close to those numbers.

noticed very similar issues. i had a phosphorous issue in the adult room as well. the cookies seem to like their P.

everyone's getting a bump up tomorrow.

thanks for popping in DV and Turbo.
