When will the seed turn into a seedling?

I planted a seed indoors under 2, 48in fluro's, and this was 3-4 days ago, I havn't seen any type of sprout yet, am I just being too impatient, how long will it be til I see a nice sprout?

Ps. I ddin't germinate...I know, I should've....also, would it help to put saran wrap on top of the pot to maintain moisture?

but then by having the paper towel on top of the pot, wouldn't that mean a lot of light would be blocked?

Yes the light would be blocked, but there is no plant yet so no light is needed. You dont need to give the plant light untill it breaks the soil.

Well yeah.

Well 3 or 4 days really isn't that much time. . . in that time, during germination your just getting the root to split out of the seed. .. just relax. . oh and I agree, that light is doing nothing for you at this point. . .not untill you see some green. .
