Parcero here,
I will explain why I registered tonight. I plan on moving to south america, and I am able to legally grow up to 20 plants.
I only want 8 to 10.
What I am curious about is this: My location has eleven hours of light per day, I was considering feminized seeds, I generally like the sativas,
being that they will be outdoors, would you recommend auto flowering? or is eleven hours per day enough to keep them from flowering?
Just need a recommendation about which seeds to start with, that would have good results with eleven hours of light per day outdoors.

Welcome from Central California - Good luck with your grow!
Keep us posted -We'd like to see how they do.

A friend of mine maintains that if I grow outdoors from the get go, with eleven hours of light, that they will be in flowering mode from the start, and that is why I am asking.

Very cool, that seems somewhat fool proof. I thought the autos would work, but I did NOT know that you can get more than one harvest.
Does this mean that when it flowers, you pick them all off and let it grow new ones?

You could grow 8 autos and 2 photos-then you'll have a definitive answer to your original question.
If the photos do what you hope they'll do,next year plant all photos.

No,you can grow 3 separate crops per year with autos

Carcass, thank you for the clarification to the newbie, I actually grew before most people here were born, but not with today's technology and choices of seeds that are available.
Now, other question is when I go to the website to order, will the 'photos" be denoted as such?

Hey thanks, I found a site that offers a great deal. For 69 US, they offer 30 seeds of outdoor ( three varieties of ten seeds each).
Or, for 50 US, I can get 5 seeds of auto blue dream, feminized outdoor.
I see where it denotes the length of time to flower is 8 to 10 weeks.....
Seems, like the more the merrier, but being my first outdoor grow, with 11 hours of light, I am looking for recommendations based on that, and that I like the sativas.
Thank you

Definitely found a great place to buy, and with your help, I am able to make a better decision, thanks to you all.
Still curious what the "photos" are though, LOL.

Photos are plants that flower according to the length of light and darkness they receive, short for "photoperiod"
Indoor growers set their lights to 12 hours on / 12 hours off to make the plants flower.

If the seed sites don't call them "auto" then they're photoperiod.
Then you have to decide between "feminized"and "regular seeds"
Feminized generally cost a bit more, but in my opinion, they're worth it.
