Website Upgrade: New Features

Hi folks.

I wonder if anyone else is having this issue:
Used to be we could type a ‘:’ followed by the first letters of the code for an emoticon and a litttle menu would appear that you could select the desired emoji from (eg you could type ‘:laug’ and the options for laughing emojis would appear as a drop-down list to choose from).
The last few days this is not happening for me. I don’t think anything has changed at my end. Has something changed in the software, or a box that got unintentionally unchecked in the upgrade, maybe?
That’s cool, I mean :cool ah! I see what you mean.
I would use that feature if it were patched up. I didn’t know it used to work.

Thanks PK! I know how to get to them manually. I’m just very used to typing the code and doing it that way (rather than multiple clicks to the full emoji page ;) )

:Namaste:

Yep - very handy. Similar to the way the tags ‘autocomplete’ when you start typing. @Marc Ocean :D

I know some of them in full by now, so often can type whole thing out. But the auto-prompt was a nice feature.

I noticed this as well, has been creating extra work for me. Any idea @Marc Ocean

:thank :thanks: Rob! Glad it’s not just me. That likely means it’s fixable. :nomo:
I was about to make a post on it as well. I thought it would correct itself. I also find it's case sensitive, but never really noticed before since the drop down list normally showed. :rasta: :Rasta:

I'm finding on my phone that quickly double-clicking the return button continues to (sometimes) cause minor quirky events- cursor jumping around to random spots, text getting deleted or duplicated, indented paragraphs losing their indent, etc.

I mentioned it before and Marc suggested clearing my browser history and cookies, which did seem to fix it for a couple days. It don’t last though.

Anyway- no biggie- just putting it out there in case anyone else ever notices the same issue.

I've encountered stuff like this with spotty wifi; usually ISP, modem or router related.

I don’t have WiFi- I just run on cellular data, but yes it is generally spotty and accounts for a lot of issues on my end, so you are probably right. I’ll compare the performance next time I’m around a better connection. Thanks.

Yeah, Wifi, cell service, can mimic the same things basically. That's most likely your issue.

I also encounter the cursor jumping around and deleting text when I hit the return button in the compose box as well.

It happens on iPhone and iPad so i assumed it was a communication issue btw iOS and the site software. It doesn’t happen on my desktop browser. And doesn’t matter what kind of connection i have - most of my connections are super solid and pretty fast, bandwidth-wise.

It seems more likey to happen when I have quotes involved (but that could be an imagining). It’s not new and I’d always assumed it was an iOS issue.

Every issue like this I've encountered thus far, has been usually Wi-Fi, ISP, modem or router related.

that's called a "glitch" which usually happen when a connection "wifi or internet" is disrupted and lost. a glitch can also happen when your computer stops doing stuff but the hard drive light is going crazy. lol!

i'm not sure why, but i keep having this issue in the similar thread section. on that section all the journals are mixed of years and without looking at the date i bring them back to life. Why are they coming up though?

Since the recent upgrade I notice that pictures are now loading properly. Previously I could only see pictures loaded as full images. If I tapped a thumbnail attachment a picture would half load and hang and I’d have to backspace my way out of it and start again.
Just wanted to say that works now and the graphics load nicely and let me navigate around and back just as it looks like it should.
:thanks: :green_heart:

Hey I thought I was the only one who had that issue for the last couple years :laughtwo: But yeah they’re finally working now.
