Waterville city leaders voted unanimously Tuesday night, 7-0, to support a six-month moratorium on a medical marijuana dispensary in the city.
City officials say the moratorium would give them the time to figure out if any areas would be suitable for dispensaries, cultivation operations, and storage buildings. They also want to develop standards for any possible dispensaries in the city.
One of the eight proposed medical marijuana dispensaries in the state could be on Water Street in Waterville.
