Prosser, Wash. — City Council members are expected to discuss the city's moratorium on marijuana-related businesses at the Nov. 8 council meeting.
Council members were supposed to have discussed the matter during a Nov. 1 meeting, but ran out of time, City Administrator Dave Stockdale said Wednesday.
The city imposed a six-month moratorium in September after learning a third marijuana retailer was planning to locate in the Prosser area. City officials believe that having three shops with Prosser addresses was too much for the city, Stockdale said.
Council members will likely send the matter to the Planning Commission for a recommendation on whether to leave the city's marijuana regulations intact or to prohibit further businesses from coming in, Stockdale said.
