It's minus 30 today, too cold to be opening the door working out there.
But Howie loves it.
I have to drag him in after a few minutes.
Poor guy just wants to play.

I haven't hooked anything up yet but yes.
That's the whole concept.
I can control all electrical aspects of the room from anywhere.
But just being able to dial it in really easily is a major benefit.
Being able to maintain a constant vpd & proper light intensity without all the guess work will be fantastic.
I'm still piecing a few things together.
Was rough day today Dentist & had to drive back and forth to town 4 times.
And it's minus 30 today, Yuk.
Maby tomorrow I'll have something to display.

PREPARATION IS KEY !!!




I'm doing 15 solo cups at once



( #1 ) Step one COCO amending


You Need these ingredients


​

- Good Quality Washed & Buffered COCO COIR ( 15 solo cups )

- Clean Perlite ( 4 solo cups ) Approximately 1/3ish of the coco

- Bokashi ( inexpensive stuff from Zn. is fine ) 1 cup

- Insect Frass ( I use Frass & Dazzle 0 - 0 - 0 ) 1.5 cups
* Check the N.P.K. if you use something stronger!

- Mycorrhizal Inoculant ( I currently use DYNOMYCO) just a little

- Clean Mixing Tub

- Spray bottle - I have Roots Excelurator Gold & Superthrive & B1
Diluted with clean water
Thank you @VIVOSUN for the 50 oz. Bottle

- Rubber gloves ( fingers have oil and bacteria on them )
* If possible wear gloves it helps

- Pour COCO into tub & Cover completely with

* Perlite on left
* Bokashi in the middle
* Frass to the right
* DYNOMYCO on the very right hand side

Spray !! Ingredients thoroughly with your spray bottle

This is important to activate the

Microbes & Fungi

that will instantly start feeding your roots
​

I Mix it well and let sit for

24 hours before going into solo cups

As long as it's clean you should not have to.
Sometimes it's full of dust.
Then you use a colander to get rid of the dust.
As long as it's not powdery.
I believe congratulations is in order this morning.

Sometimes it's full of dust.
Then you use a colander to get rid of the dust.
As long as it's not powdery.

Solo Cups continued

Repeat layers, perlite with Bokashi & Frass misting to activate as you go.

Then your Coco, repeat.

Just Thin layers is fine.

When you get close to the top use an empty cube

to measure the height

Your cube needs to sit slightly higher than the rim




​

The first layer under the cube should be

perlite, Bokashi & Frass.

Sprinkle extra DYNOMYCO directly under the cube.

Sprinkle DYNOMYCO directly on the cube

And root if it's visible

Make sure it sits just slightly higher than the rim

Solo Cups continued




Sprinkle DYNOMYCO on your cube before you

set it directly on the perlite ​

Sprinkle a little Coco around the cube


Now fill in your moat with Perlite right to the rim
​

Sprinkle a little Coco on top of the perlite to hold it in place

Press down the outer edge to reform your moat

Water will run away from the center now
​

I use a Marinating needle to water them now

A mild mixture of

Superthrive , Roots Excelurator Gold, B1 & Core B - Rx

No calmag yet


​

I soak the outside edge of the cup

Make sure you see some come out the bottom

Give the tap root something to chase


​

The layers keep air in the cup

It is Almost impossible to overwater


​

I put them into the veg room under the

VS 1000

36 inches @ 25 %


​

Rh under construction is currently 35 %

I put clear solos over top to raise rh


​

Now when you water it automatically


goes to the outside edge drawing Roots out


​

Heat mats because the floor wasn't on yet
