Using T5's for side lighting

I was thinking about using a t5 strip on each side of my grow area to get some light for the lower growth in addition to my main light overhead. My question is will this side lighting cause the branches to grow towards the sides the ? If so how can I avoid this?

well the plant grows up but if you use side lites the plant will grow bushier. so go for it. if it gets to much bush trim trim.
