are canadian buyers forced to go through the US site if they are interested ?

shipping, exchange, and current tariffs kill a lot of it here. ali baba and other off shore sites are spiking in activity this christmas, as they avoid most of it.

Two thirds of my led lighting is six years old and maybe in need of a replacement All this economic bullshit might have some bearing on what I do. Wonder if trump would put the 25% on electricity and natural gas?

it's questionable how far he'll take it. i wouldn't panic just yet.

the larger problem will be the tariffs on china. the chipsets and all the components to build led rigs are subject to the tax. rigs could close to double in price when landed. it might make diy a cheaper alternative again the same as 6 - 7 yrs ago.

consider a purchase before the end of the year if you want a new led.
 
Narrows me down to Canadian light makers regardless of price. Beyond my scope but can't Chinese import to Canada? I still have a good stash of old school stuff.:)

the issue is they all sell through the states. most electronics don't ship direct. all the companies are US based so they get hit with the tax.

there are canadian re-sellers but no one actually builds anymore. i used to work building and selling rigs a decade or so ago. the domestic industry completely collapsed due to cheap chinese products.

i'm not sure they entirely are. a lot of the manufacturing is getting moved at least partially to the states. there is a decent chance the lm's are probably gonna be made under license with a different brand name.

samsung is getting ready for a war footing in taiwan. the focus has shifted to military chipsets now.

for what it is worth i would seriously be looking at the @PhlizonGrowLight deal or others being offered this season. if i had the cash and a little more need i'd be investing.

it's great we get the support.
