A so-called peaceful protest which aims to provide a forum for discussing issues surrounding cannabis use will take place in Guildford on Saturday (September 24).
It is the fourth time that the Surrey Cannabis Club, which was established in 2012, has held its 'protestival' at Stoke Park.
On previous occasions, Surrey Police has said it would "deal robustly and appropriately with anyone caught breaking the law" and would "not tolerate the use of illegal drugs".
The manager of the club, Alan Pavia, said the aim of creating the group was to replicate efforts across Europe to end the prohibition of cannabis, through organised groups of individuals who cultivate it for themselves, therefore negating the criminal aspects associated with producing the class B drug.
"We also aim through this process to demonstrate that there is a much better alternative to prohibition and that the war on drugs, much like the war on terror, is more about a war on people and their freedoms and [they] almost always create more problems than they solve," Mr Pavia said.
"We feel this model must be used in order to force a change in current government legislation to decriminalise personal use for all adults and legalise medicinal use for any patient.
"This is the only way of decreasing the harms associated with cannabis use to individuals."
The event takes place from 1pm to 6pm, with club members meeting near the London Road gate of Stoke Park.
"One of the aims of this event is to provide an open forum which anyone can attend to discuss any of the issues surrounding cannabis, both positive and negative," Mr Pavia said.
"We want to actively encourage non-consumers of cannabis to attend this event also, so they can inform themselves of the issues, ask questions and interact with members of the pro-cannabis movement.
"We also strongly want to encourage local pro-cannabis individuals to come along and network with others in the area, thereby growing the community and the support network.
"Another key aim is to raise general awareness of the harm that prohibition really causes, how it affects every member of society and the astronomical cost to the taxpayer, not to mention that if cannabis were legalised and regulated the financial benefits could potentially help solve the UK economic crisis, at least to a significant degree, and create entire new industries and countless hundreds if not thousands of new jobs."
