MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Marijuana was found in a car that crashed and killed two people on Interstate 79, State Police said Sunday.
Senior Trooper D.E. Barger in Morgantown witnessed the accident Saturday that involved a car and a tractor-trailer hauling gasoline just south of the I-79 interchange with I-68.
The driver of the car, Mundel White, 31, was killed along with his passenger, Ezekiel Brown, 20. Both were from Morgantown, State Police said.
Authorities said White was wanted in South Carolina on charges of armed robbery and cocaine possession.
White's southbound car lost control, crossed the median and struck the tractor-trailer. The truck jackknifed and blocked both northbound lanes for about an hour. The driver of the tractor-trailer from Pittsburgh wasn't injured.
State Police said marijuana and several hundred dollars in cash were recovered from the car. White didn't own the car involved in the crash and he was carrying fake identification, State Police said.
