Anti crime operations by the police in Berbice yesterday led to the arrest of three people and the recovery of a shotgun and marijuana.
According to a police press release, searches were conducted at a Bara Cara house up the Canje River, Berbice, where a 12-gauge shotgun and five matching rounds were found along with 14 kilogrammes 653 grammes of dried marijuana.
Also found were half an acre field of marijuana plants ranging from two feet to seven feet in height which was then destroyed, the release added.
A man and a woman were arrested.
Meanwhile, another man was arrested for marijuana possession after he was stopped and searched and 158 grams of marijuana was found in a haversack in his possession.
