Hey @radrichie61, I notice you already have a thread going for your grow, so what we commonly do when we'd like input from others is "tag" them in our threads, like I have done here for you... use "@" followed by the member's name.

So, like I said I am new, flushing is not required for outdoors?

It is more of "not needed for a standard style of soil" as in what occurs naturally when planting in the ground. Or using a soil mix that contains organic material along with what is considered mineral such as sand and particles like we find in ground soil.

Flushing has been recommended for hydroponic styles of growing for decades as a way to flush out any buildup of salts and excessive nutrients.

I believe that over the years many growers started to think that if 'flushing' was part of hydroponic growing then it was also part of soil growing and kept recommending it. Eventually all new growers started to feel that flushing was needed for growing Marijuana.
