Too much of a good thing?

my space is approx. 5ft wide 40 inches deep and 7 ft tall

I have 2 600 in air cooled hoods, although the lights are good and bright, right in the middle it seems shaded somehow?? with the lights only having 12 inches between them, are they "cancelling" each other out somehow? and making shadows in the center???

Try changing the direction of the lights. Make the bulbs either point towards each other or run parallel. This helps with the dead zone.
