Too much light maybe?

I think maybe 4800 w is to much in a 4x4 closet. I have a killer venting system so it doesnt get to hot but ive never seen 6 1/2 week olds so short , though they have like 15 to 20 branches they are not stretching at all . I was going to reduce the light some (after i saw the elect bill lol ) , but a friend told me though I will lose 30 to 60 percent of my yield . The potency would skyrocket !!! any thoughts or ideas please share them ...

Interesting hanging grow set up :thumb:

But crazy lighting arrangement... more likely suffering with the square law of light effect due to arrangement of lights & distance !

Re: to much light maybe ?

Probably the most interesting setup I've ever seen.

It looks awesome but also looks inefficient to a large degree. U have plants and lights all over the place. U should look into sog or scrog with a setup like that u could knock em dead. +Rep for the super stealth setup. That looks so badass lol

Re: to much light maybe ?

Ur friend sounds like he means well but inexperienced to an extent. U will lose out on overall weight sure. But an efficient grow will still clear .8 gpw. Ether u use 100 or 10,000 Watts doesn't matter much.

As for potency "skyrocketing" no offense but I had to lol. There is absolutely NOTHING in this world you can do to improve a plants potency. U can hit the nail on the head and see the plants full potential sure... there's always room for improvement. But a plants outcome is dictated by its DNA. There is a genetic potential in every plant. The best any can hope for is to see its potential fully. There is no additive or light that will improve genetic potential. Only genetic modification can achieve this. And we "just say no to gmo "

I personally think you should get those ladies transplanted into their own 3-5 gallon pots get em on the ground. Give em some lst to get the canopy even then reorient the lights. Use the two mh as their main lightsource and put a few of those cfl in the corners and low light spots. If done properly I'd be surprised if u didn't yield just as much as u would have this way if not more. Efficient use of your light is 1000x more important than how much you have IMO.

With the right arrangement you could easily produce more than u would now with less light (less money on power means more to spend on other parts of the garden)

Love the hidden entry to the too. I have to agree with the others.
The light set up and arrangement could be more efficient. Reps for the room.

Re: to much light maybe ?

Thanx guys and I think all three of you are probably right. I am kinda thinking I need more room for that kinda power, and put them on movers like the other spot with 12 foot tables.. And I had an led exper. that went pretty well . I think the closet is gonna be for leds and im gonna put two tables in the adjoining room on movers with the hot stuff next run ... hers an update on all three, now the big spot has a tender and she does not deviate from the food and light schedule... Me on the other hand, I CANT STOP OVERWATERING !!! I swear
