Too many watts per sq foot, or just enough?

So, I'm running 6 plants in a 4x4x7 tall tent. I have been running one California Lightworks 550, so 400 actual watts at full power. So, if we do the math, I've been running 25 watts per square foot. I've just switched to 12/12, so I picked up another 550 light, both are running through the matching controller. Is 50 watts per square foot too much? Heat is not an issue for me, as it's helping me to get up from 72 to 77 degrees.

I have heard many Pros say shoot for 40 to 50 watts per square foot. So that being said I would say you're good to go

I'd say if you're running at 50 watts/sq ft, you're golden

Thanks for the replies. I just hooked up the second light yesterday morning, and I swear within an hour they were pointing their leaves skyward more than ever. We'll see how it goes.
