To trim or not to trim bushy plant

Should I trim any leaves off of this plant for better light penetration? I already trimmed the lower leaves and budsites that won’t receive any light. Do bud sites need light to grow?

You can trim a bit more off to help with airflow and it will it will cause the colas to bulk more. I never used to trim during flower but my last run I did. Are they 3 weeks or 4 in flower? Have you tried tying the branches down to open them up? If you go that route just be careful with cracking or snapping branches.

I trimmed a few leaves and tied some branches over a little. I kind of lst’d It already, that’s why the stalk is sideways. It was my first attempt. I’m good at topping. Check it out.

Opinions are split on this but I always do it. As mentioned above, airflow and light penetration are important and sometimes, particularly with big bushy plants, it's absolutely necessary. I always try to remove as few leaves as possible because ultimately but production depends on those leaves. I try to tuck them under when possible but sometimes you have to pluck a few. Look into a SCROG setup, the screen is very useful in this regard.

Looking good @DreamingTrees7 that's a lot of bud sites! Looks like the light can get down in there pretty good with what you've done...the more leaves the better at this stage? CHeers mate, big buds incoming!

They do not need direct light to grow.

Diffused light is actually helpful.

Plants grow in shade flowers grow in shade. Some of my favorite weed is from flowers that are shaded.
