To harvest or to not

Hey everyone,

im in a little dilemma, I don’t know if I should harvest early or not. The problem is that with summer coming along its getting harder and harder to keep my tent cool while maintaining the humidity.

If I want to keep to temperatures down, higher (70s-mid 80s), my humidity is mid to high 60s sometimes peaking around 70, but when I kill the little A/C unit keeping my 2x2 tent cool it it lowers humidity back down to 40-50% but my temperature will reach 85+ sometimes peaking the 90° mark.

she just finished her 8th week. And is a gorilla glue auto. I don’t know if I should just harvest early and accept it and get something out of it. Or keep going and potentially risk mold/rot.

Thank you,
Jon

ps sorry for the quality of photos, I am still getting used to a micro lens for close ups

Yeah man hold out probably 3 more weeks. They’ll be fine just make sure you have a better controlled environment for drying out.

Hello @longjon18 great garden.
Those buds are still growing and building for you.
All those white pistols need to turn red and crinkle in.
At that point she will be finished flowering.
Then you check your trics.
Clear/white energetic feeling.
White/amber relaxed feeling.
Give her a couple weeks and see how the pistols look then.

The problem is that with summer coming along its getting harder and harder to keep my tent cool while maintaining the humidity.
Can you leave the tent door open when the lights are on? I have found that there is enough air flow to cool the tent down to approximately 5 to 7 degrees F higher than the room temperature. Hot weather like we are having now means the tent door has to be open to bottom. You might have to open the door and a side window or port depending on how your tent is designed.

The downside to doing this is that the reflective surface of the door and any side windows is not there but I figure that is a small loss as compared to the gain in the ability to get the temperature in the tent closer to what I want it to be. In other words, loose a little bit of light reflecting back at the plant and gain a lot more optimal growing temperatures.

It take a bit of experimenting but it seems to work. I have noticed some of the other growers on the message board also mention doing this when summer comes.

Good luck.
