Tiny caterpillar/maggot looking things on harvested bud

I'll update with a pic as soon as I get home...
So, I harvested one of my outdoor plants, cookie monster, earlier this evening, and noticed a bunch of very tiny (1/16"-1/4" or so) white-ish green-ish maggot looking bugs (caterpillars?), on the tarp I used to carry it into my garage to hang. And after starting at the branches for a min I started seeing more come wiggling out of different buds.
I'm totally devastated!! I only grew two plants this year, neither of which were huge, but the cookie monster made some big, beautiful solid nugs and now I'm thinking the whole thing is trash!
I never noticed any sign of infestation. No droppings, no rot, literally nothing out of the ordinary, except about two weeks ago I had a praying mantis come visit and stay on only that plant, for two days, which made me think bugs. But still, I saw nothing that indicated that.
Is there ANYTHING I can do to save this harvest? Will a bud wash even help with these pests?? What I've done a couple times is shake and kinda smack the branches which make a few fall off/out, but I feel like I can only do that so many times before I end up destroying the buds.
I swear I want to cry!!😭

Welcome to 420Magazine my friend :welcome:
Sorry about the bugs.
You can wash everything off by using the method I mentioned.

Stay safe
