So what are the pros and cons of trimming fan leaves or extra foliage ?.

Leaves are solar panels only do it if it blocks bud sites
Tuck them under is a better option
When the Palnt is flowering those leaves are a food source
I trim leaves as little as possible
Others do big defoliation
It is up to your discretion

I trim shading fanners then late in flower i remove all leaves without resin on them.
If some one says pruning leaves stunts growth that is going to be hard to prove.
