Hi all I’m about to switch the light to 12 on 12 off
Do I just change the light straight over to that?
And another thing can I turn the inline fans off when the light is off as well or is it best to leave one
Cheers

Yes. Yes, but I suggest you at least have the timer set to cycle it on a few times/night. Both for gas exchange and because when temperatures fall in a small space like that, you can expect the relative humidity to jump. That's in regards to your grow space extraction fan; of course there's no need to run the fan removing the heat from your light when that light isn't running.

I like to give my plants 24-36 hours of straight dark before going into 12-12.....there's not much supporting this but I personally have found plants that I do this with tend to show pistols faster then plants going from 20-4 or 18-6 to 12-12.

I run my exhaust fan 24/7. But I'm growing in a closet & the Humidity climbs to 75% if I don't exhaust it. With it running all the time I can keep the Humidity around 50%. I'd say it depends on your situation on whether or not you should use it. High Temps or High Humidity during lights out I'd use it. Low Temps & Low Humidity I see no need for it unless the plants are putting off a smell already.

I have noticed when my lights go off that they release a super strong almost like a cut grass smell....No specific strain either. I have to use a fan lights off as my humidity jumps really high when my lights go off too.
