TheBlaze: Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1

I'm just worried about real estate though. This tent is not much bigger than the last one I had, and in that tent I could only squeeze in 6 plants.

Here are some photos of the current tent and how the girls look now. The extra light is making it hot in that tent, so I set up an extraction fan. That should drop the temp a little. One good thing about the heat is that they emptied their pots and were looking very good.

Yeah, there in lies the rub. I'm itching to get the next round started. I know I keep talking about those strawberry diesel beans I got, but I'm fucken excited about those genetics man. It's nice to support a fellow SA'kn as well. As Grizz mentioned about supporting Aussies. Same same.

That's always the way with me too. When I know the plants are fine and ticking along, my mind wonders what sort of grow the NEXT one will be like... Esp with a few new beans lying around, screaming at you telepathically to be grown next...! Was agony for me to decide to NOT grow that GT this year.... But now I got my new girls under my new light, and they look great and green, I'm still thinking about that Strawberry Amnesia!
Looking good in here, dude. Hope it all works out this time!

Mini update

No photos, but girls are looking good. Only issue now is that they are drinking their pots bone dry in a 24 hour period. Not good. Gave them more feed this morning, but I'm going back tonight to feed them again and pick up my perlite. Will start prepping tomorrow for their transplant. Will have to happen sooner than expected. I can't be going to the site twice a day. It's just not physically possible. So they need the bigger pots so they don't drain them dry.

Have you considered a res and pump for multiple feeds?I was originally setting up for a coco grow this year and everything I read was pointing me to a res/pump feed setup for best results. From your last pic update things are looking Awsome again.
BT I am going that route for my next grow which will start soon, how would you run it and with what pipes and pumps? I was thinking just a normal pipe with 4-6 holes in the ring that is connected to a T, res will be in a black 30L tote with good air stone which makes as small as possible bubbles. Do you have any journals I could go look at??

I replied to this...WTF?! Now it's gone.

Welcome Shiggs and thanks. I will transplant in the next few days then.

The ones I looked at used normal garden sized pipes with a halo/ring on the pots.Pump size will depend on how many pots you are going to run.You will also need a digatal timer so you can have multiple on/off times a day and time may only be 15-20sec a go.air stone will stop any slime build up.The main thing you will have to play with is how long to run the pump at a time so at the end of the light cycle you end up with around 20% run off.Ive read blumats(prob spelt wrong) works well in coco as well and used gravity instead of pumps so keeps it moist but not wet and never dry.You still need to hand water till your root zone is big enough.Theres plenty of info in google or the tube that will explain it to the letter.Cheers

UPDATE

Day 22

Been battling with really high temps and low humidity. Plants were subjected to 2 days of temps at 34.5 deg C and humidity as low as 10%. Add to this completely dry coco and resulting high salt content, and that spells problems. The plants actually held up quite well, considering. I had to switch off the second HPS light, until I can properly address the heat. Temps are now at 27.5 and humidity around 50%. Much better. In just 24 hours, the plants are making a valiant comeback. These photos were taken last night. By tonight they will be almost 100% I'm sure.

I can only up pot this weekend though. Simply do not have the time during the week. After work, I only get to the grow at about 7pm. Growing off site is definitely more problematic. This is the kind of issue I could have addressed much sooner if I was still growing at home.

Anyway... here they are.

I had the exhaust running for about 16 hours/day with the 2 600's. Only difference it made was to decrease humidity even more. I do have access to a portable AC. Will get that setup soon. First priority though is to repot the girls this weekend. I also have a 1000w cooltube setup I can use. So I think I'm going to swap out the 600's for the 1000 and then in flower hang the 2 LED's on either side of it. That cooltube really works for temps.

If you have a hot and dry situation you can set up a swamp cooler. Hang a towel into a bucket. Have a fan blowing very close to the towel. The water will evaporate and it will both cool the tent and humidify.

Some caution is advised. I would rinse the bucket and wash the towel every week to make sure you aren't going to make a mold situation. An ultrasonic humidifier will do the same thing but they are more of an investment. Just don't let the towel and water get yucky.

Higher heat is more sustainable with higher humidity. Just make sure you don't have a huge spike of humidity at lights off.

Thanks Shiggs

I do have an ultrasonic humidifier, you can just see the base of it in the last photo. It has a 5L reservoir, which will last about 22 - 24 hours at a lower setting. That works, unless I'm pushing crazy temps like 35 deg C.
