Hello all! I am 26 from the north east I have been around weed for half my life (as short as that is) and have always found a fascination in attempting to grow but have never been in the rite place at the rite time. I now have both space and time to work on a side project. I decided to start an outdoors project and then when winter comes bring it inside to finish up in a closet in hopes to have an extra merry Christmas this year. I have done quite a bit of research on extensive operations but I'm going for an out of sight out of mind, small, simple, first time ordeal seeing I'm not in a green state. Growing up I've turned my parents yard into a wonderland of colors and after a couple years of solo successful gardening I think it's time to see how good my green thumb is.
And this is how my journey begins! Took a Dunks cup that I had in my hand at the time the bulb went off in my head, washed it out, stabbed a few holes in the bottom and bam!
Now I know people will tell me (as well as reading it on many forums) not to use the seeds from my bags but to keep this simple and to learn the basics of this plant's personality I've decided to raise a sapling to get comfortable. The dirt I use that has worked well with everything so far has been a manure base mixed with some potting soil, up north in the woods the ground can be a bit twiggy/leafy but I figure hell, if I can grow an entire salad on it it should be a good place to start.. again keeping it simple and inexpensive, using what I have.
I probably won't post to much personal info up but I plan on keeping yall updated on my progress as well as look forward to picking everyone's brains as the weeks roll on! I should note as of today all I have is dirt and mother nature, thinking my closet would be the best place for the rest of the season once fall gets here. Which leads me to my first question, starting late in the season what would be the best time in your opinion to move this indoors? Still reading up on light cycles and what not but this is just for personal gain not looking to make money off of it just don't want to spend a red cent on something I can grow on my own, cut out all the middle men and the sketchy side of weed.
Much love to the site for what yall have already accomplished and maybe down the road I'll have some input to add to your huge treasure trove of information! Who knows maybe I'll meet some of yall at the Boston Hemp Fest! -Fish
