The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Morning Sue,:hugs:
Just like the Rooster, I'm just passin thru.
I have a few of the blue treacle in the stash as well.
Sounds interesting.

enjoy them :circle-of-love:

Thank you Birdie. I'll do my best. :laughtwo:

From the looks of your yard, you'll fill those little jars right on up and then some!:thumb: and you got a MBM too? Life is good! Morning SweetSue, feeling good way down here in the South.... Rooster1 running some yards... later !:peace:

Life is definately sweet Rooster1. Good to see you running through this mornin'. Have a good one now. :hugs:

Mornin' Stage. Sounds to me like we should coordinate a grow and watch them go side-by-side. Think of it, a grow shared by the POTY and the MOTY. :battingeyelashes:

I don't think either one of us has the time or schedule for that. :laughtwo: It was a sweet, fleeting thought though.

The Flip: Carnival #2, Day 80

First thing I did after the 4-mile morning walk was to set the timer for 12/12.

image18420.jpeg

Good Mornin' Beautiful. All ready for the big day?

image18421.jpeg

Let's start by cleaning up the lower reaches. I want to remove any and all extraneous growth. I'm looking critically for anything small from stem up to the point about 12-14" down from the apical tip. I only want growth on the colas from this point on. I have no interest in popcorn.

image18424.jpeg

That's better.
image18425.jpeg

I borrowed a trick from arteekay (thank you, you darling man :kisstwo:) and tied up the leg of the weakest branch to get her up there with her sister branches.

image18426.jpeg

That's her, the shorter one in the middle of this group. As the stretch begins she has a better chance of catching up.

image18428.jpeg

I could have cloned her, but I have these other candidates to play with. Again, I only need one to successfully root.

image18429.jpeg

Canopy's nice and level.

image18430.jpeg

Let's get her back in the tent and do some leaf removal for light penetration.

image18431.jpeg

There we go. Doc'll be much happier with that. :laughtwo:

image18432.jpeg

Sunlight down to the soil level. Sweet!

image18433.jpeg

image18434.jpeg

She's all groomed for The Flip.

image18435.jpeg

image18436.jpeg

All this pent-up energy ready to explode.

image18437.jpeg

image18438.jpeg

Let the games begin! :laughtwo:

OOOOh cool beans on alla the gifts. Beautiful job on the training and grooming :hugs:SweetSue:hugs:. She will be a stunner that's for sure. Oh yeah what is it with all of these inadvertent toe and foot shots ? I noticed all the coolest of the gang do it.

:laughtwo: Thank you Jacob. :hugs: Duggan and a couple of the guys have a thing for toes that we indulge. Lol! In my case though it's more that I'm not paying attention to where my feet are.

My favorite from earlier today....Greenchef

OUCH ! But hard not to laugh considering the context. Look at that thing :passitleft: Sorry Greenchef. :passitleft:

Obviously, once you have mites you always have mites.

image18440.jpeg

My new approach, since sprays appear to be a TOTAL WASTE OF MY TIME!!!! will be to take off the affected leaves. Physically remove the little bastards. Grrrr!!!!

image18441.jpeg

That's the best I'm gonna be able to do from now on. I was gonna pull the Carnival clones and put them in the tiny closet for the time being but I just found more mites in there last night and sprayed that plant with SNS217. *sigh*

I need to find peace with these little earthlings if I can keep the numbers down...... Yeah, I hear the foolhardiness of that. When the LOS pots get harvested I'll be converting them over to Doc's kit soil. Hopefully they won't hit the clones.

This is frustrating guys. Tired of fighting them.

My Universal Compensation Prize

It sucks having to deal with the mites again. I can't fight with them anymore, so I'll have to find a better solution. Like grow healthier plants that repel the tiny earthlings.

I can start with the clones. I've had 200% success with TOAST's delightful plastic produce bag technique. It truly doesn't get any easier than this technique. I'll be sticking with it from here on out. No bubble cloner for me , thank you very much.

image18442.jpeg

The one in the red cup is my favorite of the six, and I had a small quantity of dried out HB soil I found, so I rehydrated it with a light TransWater and added a liberal coating of some ProMix myco I won in the MOTY, dusted her with Roots! and dropped her into the cup. I'm gonna hold her off in this cup as long as I can while I wait for the soil to cook. It had the smallest root development, so I may actually get away with this. The other two are planted in LOS. I'm finally gonna get that comparison I've been after for the last two years. Clones make it possible to do.

This was much easier to pull off than I anticipated. TOAST, I love you Big Guy. :kisstwo:

Sue,
The setup I have dictates that I keep the grow room door open to help keep the room cool. So I am always introducing new mites. There are times that I am ahead of them but I always have a few. Until I can budget a power upgrade I just have to coexist with the Borg.

I won't go into all the things you can do. However, you brought up removing the leaves.I routinely remove any damaged leaves I find, a few at a time, even if I am spraying. My thinking is, the leaves that have had mites are the most likely to have mites. Another advantage is that the more of the damaged leaves that are removed the easier it is to spot new damage.

Thank up you for that Canyon. I have to stop killing them in mass like I've been doing. It causes me spiritual pain to be this aggressive against tiny earthlings just trying to live out their own lives. If I go to a policy of just removing affected leaves the plants can recover and grow new ones quickly. Then I can be working on growing them healthier.

Obviously the idea of eradicating them when I'm this casual about my own garden is flawed thinking. Let's fall back on coexistence. As long as I get blossoms that support my needs I'm gonna be ok.

I'm confused. If you only remove the affected leaves then won't you constantly and forever be removing leaves? A lot of leaves? I mean, they'll still lay eggs in other places right? Or what if the plant's a baby with only a couple leaves to begin with?

I'm concerned. Do you by chance have a Plan B? ...Just in case?

Daily Update: Autos, Friday, October 14, 2016

*Deep Centering Breath* I will find peaceful coexistence with the mites.

Lets take a stroll, shall we? Discounting the mites, everyone's still moving forward.

image18444.jpeg

Early Miss (Day 31) From here on out she just grows. No more training.

image18445.jpeg

The clones (Day 7)

image18446.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto 3 (Day 52) This is the plant the mites prefer. *sigh*

image18450.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto 2 (Day 62) Flushed her again today and checked her trichomes. Still all clear.

image18451.jpeg

In the tiny closet, Dark Devil Auto 4 (Day 52) I took her SWICK out of the closet.

image18449.jpeg

That dropped her back down to the right distance from the light. :cheesygrinsmiley:

The clones awaiting their day under the lights.

image18454.jpeg

That's all I got tonight guys. All-in-all, not a bad day. My hempy girl needs to get those trichomes changed. I'm hankering for some fresh DDA. :laughtwo:

Thanks for stopping by. I hope your days been filled to overflowing with wonderous and joyful moments. I had the best walk along the river first thing this morning, marveling as the fog banks rose off the waters. I have a deep love for fog banks, especially watching them lift off and head for the skies. It made for a great start to the day.

Have a lovely end to your day. I'll be seeing you around the yards.

:Namaste:
